Just want to rant a little: got a cake order, ok cool. Wedding cake, even better. Wanted to first pay by zelle. Um, no. I will never zelle outside family. They didn't have a venue booked and were just now booking a cake, for a wedding 2 weeks out. I was already a little suspicious. Told them we would talk this week and I would get a deposit. So today I messaged them. They supposedly sent all the money not just deposit, to my Venmo. Then they said it declined due to needing my Venmo email. Told them to cancel transaction, they said they couldn't. Ok, still suspicious I gave them my email. I got a email from "Venmo" (but not really) saying my acct had a limit on it and the last buyer (that person) should sent me $200 more to upgrade my acct so the money could all be added. So now I'm like nope. The "buyer" contacted me said he got the same email and he has done this before and would gladly send $200 more to upgrade my acct. Nope. Told him deal was off. Never heard any more from them. So the moral is, if your gut is telling you something isn't kosher, go with it. I'm so glad I'm a conspiracy theory person anyway!

Updates and how you can pray for Mike

We have a praise! Mike's kidney numbers (Creatinine) are the lowest they've been during these 4 weeks of ICU. Because of this, his open heart surgery to place the permanent heart pump (LVAD), will not be today and probably not tomorrow.

Now the cardiology team is looking at this Wednesday, 12/17 for the surgery. The hope is the kidney numbers will drop further to a safe zone that will decrease his need for dialysis.

Since the attempt to wean him off the temporary heart pump proved unsuccessful, this surgery is our only option. They call the LVAD a bridge to heart transplant. So he will be a candidate for heart transplant in 6 months.

The surgery takes 6 or so hours. And while there are risks, we trust in the Almighty first and foremost, and in the heart surgeons here who do this and other surgeries all the time.

Here is what was on one of the hospital staff's shirt:

"They will say it's too hard. That it cannot be done.

To which we will say, we are different.

We are missionaries called by God to continue our century long journey bringing compassion and hope to those who need it most.

We are driven by our faith to bring health and wellness to all.

But if it is right, it can and will be done.

Please pray for the kidney numbers to drop more over the next few days, for Psalm 91 protection over Mike during surgery: the Lord would hide Mike in the shelter of His wing and give His angels charge concerning Mike. Pray for the surgery to go well. Pray for our peace and Mike's peace from the Prince of Peace

We can't thank you all enough for your continued support and prayer during this hard journey. We appreciate all the shares of my updates and comments and messages of concern and love. I read messages to Mike daily from so many of you to encourage his heart. And I read him Scripture.

Also, many of you have asked about Mama Friday. She is doing ok, she came to see Mike on a visit and is back home.

WE NEED YOUR PRAYERS

To all our friends and viewers. Mike earnestly needs your prayers. It’s been a rough 2 days. Mike had a heart attack on Tuesday. His heart is too weak for needed surgery. He has a surgically placed pump to keep blood flow going until his heart, body, and organs can recover from the shock and trauma to his body. He’s in critical care and is still very sick.

We love you all and know so many of you will pray for him. Numerous prayer chains are already underway with people prayimg from around the world.

We are coming home in a few days! So that being said, Sweet T's will offer a LIMITED cake menu for Christmas. Must have orders in by December 15th. $20 each: Chocolate, vanilla, red velvet. Or a fancy (vanilla and chocolate) red and black checked inside or a orange and vanilla checked interior, either of these for $35
