I cannot thank Don enough for the opportunity to carry on the truck, brand, recipes, and community that is Daddy Oโs! My family and I will be forever grateful to the ayatollah of cheesesteaks!๐ฅ
I wanted to take a moment and shout out Ethan who owns Daddy O's Cheesesteaks South.
Little over a year ago when I sold my truck Ethan came to me to look at it.
First words out of his mouth was โYou know my Dadโ.
I was like โWhoโs your Dadโ.
And he said Ryan Barron. Talk about feeling old all of a sudden. Lol. It seems like yesterday Ryan and I were walking the halls of Farmington High School.
Anyway, I asked Ethan what he wanted to do with that truck. He said he wanted to make it a pasta truck.
I then asked him if he would have any interest in keeping it a Daddy Oโs truck. His mother in law, who runs The Rolling Dumpling Pot, was standing behind him.
And she was shaking her head yes.
The truck had just gone through a motor rebuild from the heads up. Iโd had my fill of broken motors and transmissions. When that motor went out it forced me back to the cart I use today. The cart that started it all.
The first day I took the cart out, I knew Iโd never return to the truck. Because the cart gave me the opportunity to talk to people.
To listen to people. To hear about their stories, their life, their family.
I kinda think if like Iโm the โCheersโ for cheesesteaks. Iโm Sam, but not sure who Norm isโฆ๐
Back to Ethanโฆ.
The last couple of days people have said โMan, youโre all over the place. We pass you by up here and we get cheesesteaks, and then we go to Leadington and there you are again.
I tell them I appreciate that and I explain thatโs Ethan. He owns that down there and that Iโm proud of him.
So Ethan, I just wanted to say thanks. Thanks for keeping the Black and Yellow going. Iโm proud of you and what you are doing.
And tell your old man Iโm glad Shawn Michaels beat Brett Hart ๐๐
