If you'd like a free cup of freshly roasted, specialty grade coffee, a bag of the very same stuff, or something from another excellent local purveyor, come on down to the Mountain Home Farmers Market tomorrow, Saturday 4/25 from 7am-Noon, located at the lot on the corner of 5th St & Shiras St.

We will be on the southern border against the sidewalk, follow your nose! We will be serving up samples of our crowd favorite Guatemalan coffee, sourced from a women-owned farm co-op, roasted to a "diner cup of your dreams" medium color, boasting chocolatey smooth sips no matter how you brew it at home.

We are often asked health questions about our coffee, so I wanted to shout out my favorite coffee creator, James Hoffmann, as he recently released a video on YouTube covering both toxins and beneficial compounds in a wide range of coffee. 20 minutes boils down to this: regardless of the coffee you are drinking, you are unlikely to find any concerning amount of Ochratoxins (mycotoxin/*mold* toxin) or heavy metals in your morning cup. Whether you drink our specialty stuff or Folgers, you should be safe from drinking concerning toxins. That said, he found that specialty/artisan roasted coffee contains higher concentrations of CGA, the polyphenols that some advocate make coffee healthy. We're glad to have solid data to point to whereas previously much of this has gone untested in the coffee roasting trade.

I highly recommend James Hoffman as a source for reputable and entertaining coffee knowledge. Check him out, and consider ordering some of our new offerings from Nicaragua and Kenya!

Tomorrow is the Mountain Home Farmers Market! We will be selling our fresh roasted coffee beans right next to Whipped Bakery *edit: who will unfortunately be skipping this week*, where they sell their awesome gluten free baked goods and freeze dried goodies, as well as our friends at Apothecary 870 with their excellent baked goods and rotating selection of goodies (one of our coffees made it into one of their spice blends, give it a look!).

While *we* tend to arrive and start selling around 8:30, the market opens at 7am and runs until noon. Come check out all the local faire, and enjoy the last 5 weeks of summer!
