As of June 2, 2026, Samuel Monroe Jr. is facing a serious health situation as his family considers difficult next steps in his care.

Shawna Stewart says Samuel Monroe Jr. remains on life support while dealing with multiple serious medical conditions. These include meningitis, MRSA pneumonia, and kidney failure that requires dialysis. He is currently receiving intensive medical care as doctors continue to monitor his condition closely. The situation has placed the family under heavy emotional strain as they stay by his side.

Shawna Stewart shared that Samuel Monroe Jr’s condition has recently taken another turn. She says he is now experiencing encephalopathy, which affects brain function. She also stated that his brain tissue is deteriorating while medical teams continue treatment efforts. Because of his weakened immune system, he is being kept in a negative-pressure isolation room to lower infection risks.

As his power of attorney, Shawna Stewart says she is now facing deeply difficult decisions about his long-term quality of life. She explained that no final decisions have been made at this time. However, she says the family is beginning to have serious conversations about what comes next while still holding on to hope for recovery. His loved ones remain focused on his care and comfort during this uncertain time.
