It's a Hard-Knock Life:
It's with tears (some happy...some sad), that I write this....the last post from The 817.
The 817 is no more. At the end of the day, we just were not good enough...I was not good enough. As the Captain, the onus is mine, and I recognize and own that. I tried.
But, I can "look in mirror". I gave my best effort and for that, I am not ashamed. I trust my girls have seen their father work hard, and give effort. If they have learned from it; then it was worth the effort.
I want to give thanks publicly to those that impacted our business:
*God...for giving us your Son Jesus Christ.
*My Mother...My Hero.
*My family...you guys are THE BEST. I love you all. :) Presley...you're grounded. :)
*My staff...everyone that has ever worked at The 817. I appreciate the effort you gave.
*Lauren Morris. I love you. My life is better with you in it.
*The Dude. I love you, Jaso. Friends we will always be.
*Susan and Lee Jordan. Great humans. Lee...not so much. :) Kiddin.
*HEB...inside joke.
*Dan and Kim...you know who you are. Thank you for everything you've done for us. I appreciate you more than I can express.
*Dawn...you know who you are...Thank you!
I'm proud of what we did in a little building in the middle of no where. It was fun and it was WORK.
I'll stop there...probably should have stopped after the first paragraph. This is my 2nd Saturday off in over 3 years...I'm gonna enjoy it!
If you know anybody that needs a fat cook from Lubbock, I'm available. Looks like I'm looking for a job. :)
Hold Fire and Let's Party.
God Bless America,
Mark
