Last week, I shared some of the struggles I’ve been facing. Opening up and being vulnerable online isn’t something that comes naturally to me, but I wanted to be honest about this journey and how determined I am to keep pushing this dream forward.

Yesterday, something incredible happened.

Someone reached out and donated $1,200 toward our food trailer.

I’m still in disbelief. This wasn’t just a donation. It was someone believing in us, believing in the vision for Trini Doubles n Tingz, and believing that this dream is worth investing in.

Because of this incredible gift, we’re now just $3,700 away from having enough for our trailer deposit. To even be able to say that feels unreal.

To my donor, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your generosity has given me hope at a time when I truly needed it, and I’ll never forget your kindness.

To everyone who has donated, supported our business, purchased a meal, shared our posts, encouraged us, or kept us in your prayers, thank you. Every act of support has helped move this dream forward and bring Greensboro’s first Trinidadian food trailer one step closer to becoming a reality.

The dream is getting closer, and I truly couldn’t do it without this amazing community.

People often see the finished product but not everything it takes to keep a small business going.

2026 has stretched me in ways I never expected. I’ve been navigating a new life, raising two little girls, trying to build better systems, and chasing a dream that sometimes feels far at times.

There have been days I’ve questioned myself. Days I’ve wanted to give up. Days I wondered if anyone truly sees how much work goes into keeping Trini Doubles n Tingz alive.

But every order, every kind message, every person who chooses to support my business reminds me why I started.

My biggest dream is to serve fresh, made to order Trinidadian food from a food trailer. That’s the next step for Trini Doubles n Tingz, and even though asking for help doesn’t come naturally to me, I’m learning that community is part of entrepreneurship.

If you’ve supported me in any way, thank you. If you’ve been following my journey, thank you. And if this post reminds you that every small business owner is carrying something you can’t see, I hope you’ll continue supporting local businesses whenever you can.
