Hey Gretna!
As we get close to celebrating a year of running Jack’s Quick Snack, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about this past year. It’s been a year of learning, figuring things out as we go, making changes, and growing along the way. Running a food truck has taught me a lot, and I’m still learning something new every day.
One of the best parts of this journey has been the customers. Every person who stops by, supports us, spreads the word, or makes Jack’s part of their day means more than you know. I truly love what I do, and there’s nothing quite like being out there cooking, serving good food, and getting to see familiar faces from around Gretna. This has become more than just a job to me, and I’m thankful for every bit of support we’ve received.
But as much as I love working the truck, I’m also a family man. Sometimes, in the process of working hard and trying to make everything work, you realize you have to make some changes to make sure you’re there for the people who matter most. My family deserves my time outside of work, too, and I want to make sure I’m making room for those moments.
With that being said, starting November 1, 2026, Jack’s Quick Snack will be closed on Sundays and Mondays each week. Our new weekly schedule is Tuesday through Saturday and may be adjusted due to weather or unexpected barriers. If there are changes to the schedule, I will continue to update this page so that you are up-to-date with any changes.
I know some of you may be disappointed, and I completely understand that. This wasn’t a decision made lightly, but it’s what’s best for me and my family at this point in our lives. I believe finding that balance will help me continue doing what I love while also being present at home.
Thank you, Gretna, for making this first year so special. Whether you’ve been stopping by since day one or just recently found us, please know how much your support means to me. We wouldn’t be here without you.
