Long before Homemade Coffee Co, and before anyone called me mom, I started Olive Pizza which was a wood-fired pizza trailer. We catered private parties, served county fairs and were at the Minneapolis & Bloomington farmerโs markets every weekend. Back then, friends and family jumped in and helped me achieve that dream by always being willing to work events with me and learned how to stretch dough and spin pizzas on the fly. Often times it was my husband Ryan who worked more than I did since the physical aspects of that trailer were demanding!
We sold that business when we moved to Hawley but have always told our kids about the adventures of owning your own small business.
Fast forward to now and my new coffee business is just getting started but only with the help of family and friends. Friday night I was feeling so nostalgic as my whole family jumped in again, from my parents, my sisters, nephews and our children all the way down to our 3 year old asking how can I help?
So around here, you may encounter a kid taking your order with questionable spelling, you may find a barista that is learning at that very moment how to make a drink, but know they are doing so with a full heart and helping hand, because that is what a family run business looks like.
Friday night was the perfect showcase of our small community; a great atmosphere to be a part of and we feel so blessed to be here. Thank you for welcoming Homemade Coffee Co to be an a part of your days!
