Halloween. Loved our theme this year, which was Sleepy Hollow. I got this tablescape idea from pinterest. Yes, I LOVE pinterest, and this was a success. originally I wanted my husband to make me a wooden box for the table to put my table decorations in. But we ran out of time, so I used an old wooden board sitting in the garage that just happened to fit the length of the table. I just added a bunch of pumpkins, gourds, leaves, nuts and candles. It turned out so well, that I'm keeping it for Thanksgiving. I switched out the jack-o-lantern for a regular pumpkin.

My Christmas cards this year. LOVE the 'Lovely As A Tree' stamp set from Stampin Up! It has been around for a long time and is a great classic stamp set. I used the retired snowman stamp set from Stampin Up for the snowman. I wasn't impressed with it at first, but I needed a bigger snowman and this was the biggest they had. I have since fallen in love with him. I'm also drawn to the kraft, white and red color combination this year. I think this card turned out wonderful and I really enjoyed making the snow scene.

Here's a diaper duty tool belt for the dad to be. It was so easy and not very expensive. I got everything at Wal-mart. Here is what you need:
an inexpensive tool belt
dust mask
safety goggles
disposable gloves
diaper
wipes
baby powder and lotion
A and D ointment
a few clothespins to hang the mask and tag on to the belt.

I did a ""Ready to Pop" baby theme last night for my daughter's baby shower. Here are some pictures of some of the ideas I did with it. I did popcorn and oreo "pops" (oreos dipped in white chocolate), and for party favors I gave out microwave popcorn that said, "Thanks for Popping by". Here is the link to the downloads for the theme. There are other wonderful baby shower themes on the link as well.

Found these cake tins for 94 cents each at walmart. The silverware was really cheap. .94 cents for a pack of 4. They went great with the theme. The bottles are from a brewing company in Ohio. I actually got those for my kombucha, but they came in handy for this. These will go great with our Sleepy Hollow Halloween party this year. We ate dinner when we reached Rohan, hence the horses.

Had a blast doing a Lord Of The Rings Party for my daughter's 20th birthday. It was so much fun and the family loved it.

This is Shelob's lair. It turned out as well as I had hoped. I used black plastic to make a tunnel between my fence and the pool, and then used three packages of spider webbing. I wrapped 12 pictures of Frodo and 12 pictures of orcs in cotton strips to look like cocoons. Placed them randomly in the webbing. The "fellowship" had to find Frodo. They could only take out one cocoon at a time.

I made these "Carrot" roll for our last leadership meeting. They were a big hit. You can see my daughter's Easter tic tacs in the background as favors. They were a big hit too. I'll post the link to that. I used tin foil to make the forms for the rolls, greased them and then wrapped them around the foil starting from the bottom up. you'll need to make each roll into a long rope. Brush them with egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on them. You can dye the dough orange if you want. I just used my favorite roll recipe. Fill them with your favorite salad filling and put parsley in the top to look like a carrot top if you want. We had carrot cake for dessert!

Pina Colada Salad (like Zupa's)

I made this again tonight and I just love it!
Give it a try and tell me what you think.

cooked chicken
romaine lettuce
mandarin oranges
pineapple tidbits
slivered almonds
fetta cheese
green onions
shredded coconut.

Mix to your liking and then add the dressing:

1/2 cup plus 2 TBSP sugar
1/3 cup mr. & mrs. T's pina colada drink mix
1/3 cup rice or apple cider vinegar- rice will make it more mild or
apple cider will make it stronger tasting ( I used this)
1/2 tsp. ginger powder
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 cup vegetable oil ( I didn't care for Olive oil in this recipe. Need a light oil.)

Hmmm... So good!
