Good morning wolf pack! Here’s a little coffee history for you this morning. Howl at us if you need something! Appreciate yall!!

In 1675, King Charles II of England issued a royal proclamation banning all coffeehouses across the country.
His reasoning? He believed that coffeehouses had become dangerous hotspots for political intrigue, gossip, and citizens conspiring against the crown. Because coffee sharpens the mind—unlike the low-alcohol ale people typically drank all day—the King feared that caffeinated, clear-headed patrons gathering to debate politics would stir up a rebellion.
However, public outcry was so fast and severe that the ban lasted less than two weeks before the monarchy backed down and allowed coffeehouses to re-open!
