Laredo, TX – After tackling a citywide water crisis and implementing proactive measures aimed at strengthening Laredo’s infrastructure, Mayor Dr. Victor D. Treviño is now turning attention toward expanding the city’s role on the international stage through trade and economic development.

Earlier today, Mayor Dr. Victor D. Treviño, City of Laredo officials, and Port Laredo representatives officially launched the U.S. outreach campaign for the Port Laredo Global Trade Summit 2026, an international event focused on trade, logistics, infrastructure, and economic development.

Scheduled for July 12–14, 2026, the summit is expected to bring together business leaders, policymakers, logistics professionals, customs experts, and international stakeholders from across the United States, Mexico, and Latin America.

As the nation’s leading inland port, Port Laredo plays a major role in North American commerce and cross-border trade. Organizers say the summit will highlight Laredo’s strategic importance in global supply chains while promoting discussions on trade, investment, infrastructure, and economic growth.

City officials described the event as an opportunity to showcase Laredo’s position as a key gateway for international commerce and a driving force in the future of global trade.

‼️ MAYOR TREVIÑO ANNOUNCES BINATIONAL CELEBRATION FOR AMERICA’S 250TH ANNIVERSARY ‼️

Laredo, TX – The City of Laredo, Mayor Dr. Victor D. Treviño, and the Consulate of Mexico in Laredo are inviting residents to take part in a special celebration commemorating the 250th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the United States.

The celebration will begin with the traditional Bridge Ceremony at 9:00 a.m. at the Juárez-Lincoln International Bridge, an event that symbolizes the friendship, unity, and longstanding relationship shared between Laredo and Nuevo Laredo.

Festivities will continue later that evening at El Portal, located at 1201 Water Street, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The free community event will feature live music, folklórico performances, food, and cultural entertainment.

City officials say the event is intended to commemorate a historic milestone in American history while also celebrating the unique binational bond that connects the two border communities.
