A little more left, a little more time

We’ll be here 12-2 and 5-7 with what’s left of the yard sale and serving up scoops of ice cream while we’re here.

Some items in the shop found new homes today’s with some of our favorite people.

If you’re feeling sentimental, want to take a piece of Holler with you, or just want to stop by one more time, we’ll be hanging out tomorrow 12-2p and 5-7p with a few things up for grabs and scoops of ice cream to go with it.

Really, thank you for everything this place has been🤎

We couldn’t think of a better person to close down the shop. Nate’s here from 9a to until we close at 4p (with brief moments of Sal running around).

He joined us about 1.5 years ago and has proven himself over and over again. Yes, he’s stubborn. Yes, he can be super sassy. Yes, he drives us crazy sometimes. Yes, he’s learning to be a little less people-pleasing. But that with all of his incredible traits is what makes him special and successful.

Those amazing traits? He steps up and shows up every day. Even on his bad days, he’s there to help. He does his best to never make excuses for making mistakes. He learns from his mistakes. And he has worked his way up to our Shop Manager. He’s really similar to the COVID generation of baristas - roll up your sleeves, get stuff done, and have fun doing it even in the wildest of times.

And now, he gets to send us off, run our “yard sale”, and help people pick up some of their bigger equipment & fixture purchases.

Can’t wait to see you all as we say adieu

As we close up shop tonight, there is a lot to think about.

One final day. Tomorrow (4/26) we wrap up our time. We have plenty more to say and plenty more to do.

First: we’re still selling a lot of things - tables, chairs, merchandisers, mugs, fridges, etc. Lots of items still for sale tomorrow before we shut our doors for good. Hoping to get through most of it by the end of the day.

Secondly: tomorrow marks our last day open. Hope to see a lot of you there for the final send off. We’ll serve uñas long as inventory allows it. Like every day, since way back in 2017, we’ll do our very best and hope you enjoy the chocolate, the coffee, and the memories.

Finally: we’ll have more to share before it’s all said and done. For right now - thank you for all of the support over the years and thanks for including us into your lives even for a brief moment. Being a part of anyone’s story - even for a moment - is an incredibly powerful thing that we don’t take for granted.

See you on the other side! 9a-4p tomorrow and then we’re into the sunset.

😢
When the alumni come by to say goodbye.

Super proud of all the people that have come through our doors and always incredible seeing some of the alumni follow their own dreams, venture into their own adventures, and always seem to find time to check in on us so we get to see their beautiful faces. !!!

We’ve been very lucky over the years.

Last weekend.
Today we’re 11a-8p and tomorrow we’re 9a-4p

What a journey it has been. It’s strange to think only two days left of what has been almost a decade of memories, stories, and lots of laughter. Almost a decade of people working with us to make a fun little chocolate bar exist in Lexington - no matter how strange it may have seemed.
We’ve been gifted by some compassionate people over the years: vendors, landlords, customers, random strangers, and all of our loved ones. We’ve been held up by everyone’s desire to be a part of community and we just happened to serve chocolate and coffee.

It’s sad it’s all coming to an end, but even the little bits of Chocolate Holler that are going to other people feels really special. Much thanks and looking forward to seeing you this weekend as we send off.

“I think that’s what life is: happy and sad, bittersweet. It’s everything all at once.” - Aimee Lou Wood

Three days left.
Today, tomorrow, and pasado mañana.

Behind the scenes we’re selling off the last of our things, but we’re multitaskers (or actually really effective singletaskers full of muscle memory) - so we’re also thinking back on all the characters that have worked at Holler over the years.

Maybe they helped out a shift here or there, maybe they were an integral thread in the fabric of Holler, maybe they came back a couple of times like a boomerang - whatever the case we’ve had some incredible people work with us. Each adding some value, some artifact, some heirloom, some history that made the shops extra special over the years.

There are not enough words, pictures, or captions that can cover what this all was.

But hey - glad we had the experience. We got three days to have some fun and then is throwing a “Celebration of Life” on 4/29 and we’ll call it quits.

✌🏽 ❤️ & harmony

From 4-8p is Sal’s last shift at Holler (except for maybe the very last day when we gotta wrap everything up 🙃😶🫠).

He’s got one last chance to spend some time with this little gal we call Chocolate Holler. And, who knows what the future holds for him or for A Cup of Common Wealth.

If you want to chat, hear some of the lore, or find out more this is your chance.

When we lock the doors tonight only THREE MORE DAYS! 😭 😢

A little shout out to our tiny, but might espresso machine that could!

This gal has been pumping coffee out and steaming milk for some time for us. She’s been bedazzled with magnets over the years and she’s with us until Sunday. She’s closing the place down with us and has already found a new home.

After she finishes her duties at the shop this week, she’ll be moving to her new home. Happy for her and happy you will all get some more time with this lass.

See ya today 1-8p. Four more days.

Just looking back on some of the Ladies of the chocolate shop over the years.

We didn’t get all of them in these pictures. The list is full of a ridiculous amount of incredible characters that each brought something special to the shop over the years.

Memories upon memories upon memories full of humans that we’ll never forget, because each one left their mark in special ways.

Sunday is it folks! Hope to see you all for one last goodbye this week.
