We are offering a studio acting intensive for teens this summer! Check it out!

Teen Acting Intensive
Ages 13-17

Dates
July 6, 7 & 10, 2026

Schedule
Monday, Tuesday & Friday, 10:00am-12:00pm

This 3-day program for ages 13-17 introduces students to foundational concepts for scene study, audition techniques & physical acting. Students learn skills for preparing a monologue & working with a scene partner. The program also includes an introduction to acting for film & television.

Through a combination of group work and individual instruction, teachers work generously with each student. Actors are assigned material and may spend time preparing outside of class. The program is instructed by Artistic Director Matthew Bretschneider. Students of all abilities & levels of experience are encouraged to join.

Join Studio Playground for our Providence Theater Camp! Students perform in an original play called My Rocket Ship Crash Landed. Studio Playground teaches classes based in physical acting. Students explore the health benefits of laughter through movement, performance & playful improvisation as they form lasting memories. This program culminates in a performance in Providence, Rhode Island.

My Rocket Ship Crash-Landed follows a group of explorers in their journey through an unknown place and time. Students create original characters under the guidance of Studio Playground's experienced teaching artists. In this half-day program, each morning begins with a warm-up & movement game as students learn skills for collaboration & ensemble development. Through the week, students develop original characters & learn performance skills through movement-based theater game

Wishing this group of future rockstars & industry shapers congratulations on being HALFWAY through their BFA Degree!

When we laugh, it releases endorphins, reduces cortisol, and promotes circulation. It also makes us feel connected to one another. This concept resonates with college students as much as it does with 5-year-olds, 90-year-olds, and everyone in between. Go onstage to make someone laugh. As long as it takes them to say “ha ha” you make them feel like they belong.

Each week is offered separately and ends with a performance. Students can register for multiple weeks.

Our Teen Acting Intensive is a few months away’ Students ages 13-17 learn skills for scene study, monologue preparation, and audition techniques. Studio Playground teaches classes based in movement and physical acting in a highly supportive environment led by teachers with professional experience as actors and directors.
