Travis Kelce dropped $125,000 on a breathtaking vintage jewelry set once owned by Elizabeth Taylor — and Taylor Swift has already worn it across two continents.
The five-piece collection, designed by Darlene De Sedle in rich 22K gold with opals and diamonds, was personally bought by Elizabeth Taylor in 1999, sold at Christie’s in 2011, and reappeared on 1stDibs just before Christmas 2025. Kelce moved quickly and made it his.
“It was clearly bought with real intention,” the jeweler told Page Six. “Seeing it pass from one of Hollywood’s most legendary women to this generation’s biggest star feels like a perfect full-circle moment.”
That full-circle moment hits especially hard because Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl, is steeped in Elizabeth Taylor-era glamour, drama, and romance. The lead single “Opalite” is drenched in opal imagery. Kelce noticed. He tracked down the exact set — two bracelets, two drop earrings, and a ring — all featuring the signature opals Swift had been singing about. As a bonus, opal is also Kelce’s birthstone, adding an extra personal touch to an already unforgettable gift.
Swift was photographed wearing the complete set in both New York and London almost immediately after Christmas, making the pieces part of her signature look in record time.
The $125,000 price tag is part of a bigger picture: Kelce’s total Christmas 2025 gifts for Swift reportedly reached $142,000, while his present for her 35th birthday came in around $175,000.
Now, with The Life of a Showgirl out in the world and Swift’s opal-and-Elizabeth Taylor aesthetic literally shining on her, Kelce’s gift has become more than jewelry — it’s woven itself into the visual story of the album. Whether he planned the cultural ripple effect or not, it’s there.
