Thank you WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News for sharing about Martin’s Grassroots Soybean Festival!
I have been behind on getting a PSA out, but it’s so encouraging to see local Tennessee news highlight how the community in Martin is coming together to celebrate what makes Martin great!

After the Tennessee Soybean Festival was canceled, many in the Martin community felt the loss of a tradition that has brought people together for decades.

We have started sourcing rugs and table bases Jack Henry's!
I think we have all of the rugs we need. That being said, if you know where to find more in this style, please let us know. The table bases are being made now in a foundry in Ohio. Really cool story about that, but that is for another time!

Can’t wait for you guys to see how this is going to come together!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Martin’s Grassroots Soybean Festival Continues to Take Shape After Cancellation of Tennessee Soybean Festival

After the Tennessee Soybean Festival was canceled, many in the Martin community felt the loss of a tradition that has brought people together for decades.

In response, local volunteers and community leaders formed Martin’s Grassroots Soybean Festival with the goal of preserving the tradition of gathering together and celebrating what makes Martin great.

The festival will be held at Virginia Weldon Park in Martin with events taking place throughout the week.

Current dates include:

Tuesday, September 8, 2026: Simmons Bank Soybean Parade
Thursday, September 10, 2026: Faith and Community Night
Friday, September 11, 2026: Music Talent Showcase, vendors, food trucks, and community events
Saturday, September 12, 2026: Full festival day

Simmons Bank has stepped up to help save the Soybean Parade, and more details about the parade will be released soon.

Taylor Automotive Group has allowed the festival to use the 2 lots next to Virginia Weldon Park for Little Sprouts Jump Park. Ham’s Party Rentals has officially been booked for September 10, 11, and all day on September 12. More than 10 different bounce house experiences, along with games, are planned for families and children.

Vendor Row and Food Truck Row are being organized now, and vendor confirmations will begin soon. Festival organizers are also working through sponsorships, volunteers, entertainment, and event logistics.

Faith and Community Night will take place Thursday, September 10. This night will focus on bringing churches, families, and the community together.

The Music Talent Showcase is confirmed for Friday, September 11, and the festival is now looking for performers who would like to be considered. This will be a chance to highlight local singers, musicians, small bands, students, church members, and community performers as part of the festival.

Saturday, September 12, will be the full festival day with local artists, food trucks, crafters, vendors, music, family activities, and more.

The purpose of Martin’s Grassroots Soybean Festival is to create a smaller, back to the roots community gathering focused on local crafters, artists, food, music, small businesses, families, farmers, and the people who make Martin strong.

The festival is still seeking sponsors, volunteers, vendors, and performers. Sponsorships help cover the real costs of putting on a safe, organized public event. After event expenses are covered, all remaining festival proceeds will be donated to the Friend of a Firefighter campaign to help provide life saving equipment for Martin’s first responders.

Major update on Martin’s Grassroots Soybean Festival!
Thank you to Taylor Automotive Group for allowing us to use the 2 lots next to Virginia Weldon Park for Little Sprouts Jump Park!

Ham's Party Rentals has officially been booked for September 10, 11, and all day on the 12th for the festival.

Over 10 different bounce house experiences, along with many games, are coming!

We are still looking for title sponsors for Little Sprouts Jump Park.

Fired!? Update on whether McKinley was fired for making a joke on TikTok…
She is not fired, although many phone calls and messages from angry “customers” have called for it. Madison did end up with the higher 30% hater taxed based on the phone calls we received.

She has actually been promoted to lead technician. After she fixed our batch brewer, she said being a barista is much harder than blue collar work. Steelworkers, underwater welders, farmers, and especially construction workers have it easy compared to what it takes to be a barista.

Side note: our batch brewer is fixed. You can now enjoy dark roast Guatemalan and light roast unwashed Sidama, all locally roasted right here in Martin, Tennessee.

May we all enjoy a coffee and calm down on trying to get people fired for making jokes on TikTok, please.

Happy Father's Day!
Thank you for the encouragement that through living by faith and trusting God in all things, through persistence and prayer, God's call on your life, whether it be being a missionary in Nepal or owning a small neighborhood coffee shop, can move through your life, guiding you and blessing you beyond compare.

That even through seemingly impossible mountains to climb, it is the constant stepping by faith that allows us to accomplish the impossible.

That life's treasures are not found in things that will pass away when we leave this world, but in the eternal impact we have on others and in our service to Him.

I have a Godly heritage, and it's only because of a life dedicated to service that I have had the privilege of having a model for how to be a dad to my two boys.

Happy Father's Day, Mr. Chad Sellers, AKA Dad.

Me encouraging our staff that it's 100% OK to have fun at work and make jokes on TikTok.

Also informing McKinley and the crew that if Madison comes in all the way from Oklahoma, she is subject to a 15% Hater Tax pending further review. We hope that she will not incur a higher percentage. This is purely based on future hater performance. Hopefully the pending 30% will not have to be applied to her account.

Good luck out there, and hopefully, drinking locally roasted and brewed coffee will help everyone calm down and not take things so seriously.
