FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Martin’s Grassroots Soybean Festival Continues to Take Shape After Cancellation of Tennessee Soybean Festival
After the Tennessee Soybean Festival was canceled, many in the Martin community felt the loss of a tradition that has brought people together for decades.
In response, local volunteers and community leaders formed Martin’s Grassroots Soybean Festival with the goal of preserving the tradition of gathering together and celebrating what makes Martin great.
The festival will be held at Virginia Weldon Park in Martin with events taking place throughout the week.
Current dates include:
Tuesday, September 8, 2026: Simmons Bank Soybean Parade
Thursday, September 10, 2026: Faith and Community Night
Friday, September 11, 2026: Music Talent Showcase, vendors, food trucks, and community events
Saturday, September 12, 2026: Full festival day
Simmons Bank has stepped up to help save the Soybean Parade, and more details about the parade will be released soon.
Taylor Automotive Group has allowed the festival to use the 2 lots next to Virginia Weldon Park for Little Sprouts Jump Park. Ham’s Party Rentals has officially been booked for September 10, 11, and all day on September 12. More than 10 different bounce house experiences, along with games, are planned for families and children.
Vendor Row and Food Truck Row are being organized now, and vendor confirmations will begin soon. Festival organizers are also working through sponsorships, volunteers, entertainment, and event logistics.
Faith and Community Night will take place Thursday, September 10. This night will focus on bringing churches, families, and the community together.
The Music Talent Showcase is confirmed for Friday, September 11, and the festival is now looking for performers who would like to be considered. This will be a chance to highlight local singers, musicians, small bands, students, church members, and community performers as part of the festival.
Saturday, September 12, will be the full festival day with local artists, food trucks, crafters, vendors, music, family activities, and more.
The purpose of Martin’s Grassroots Soybean Festival is to create a smaller, back to the roots community gathering focused on local crafters, artists, food, music, small businesses, families, farmers, and the people who make Martin strong.
The festival is still seeking sponsors, volunteers, vendors, and performers. Sponsorships help cover the real costs of putting on a safe, organized public event. After event expenses are covered, all remaining festival proceeds will be donated to the Friend of a Firefighter campaign to help provide life saving equipment for Martin’s first responders.
