Happy 57th Birthday, Cree Summer! 🎉🎙️

Today we're celebrating the birthday of the incredibly talented Cree Summer, one of the most recognizable and versatile actresses and voice performers in entertainment.

For Disney fans, Cree is best known as the voice of the fearless Princess Kida in Disney's 2001 animated adventure Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Kida quickly became a fan favourite thanks to her intelligence, courage, and determination to protect the lost city of Atlantis, making her one of Disney's most unique heroines.

Beyond Disney, Cree has enjoyed an extraordinary career spanning more than four decades. She starred as the free-spirited Winifred "Freddie" Brooks in the hit sitcom A Different World, a role that made her a household name and remains one of television's most beloved characters.

As a voice actress, her incredible range has brought to life iconic characters including Susie Carmichael in Rugrats, Numbuh 5 in Codename: Kids Next Door, Elmyra Duff in Tiny Toon Adventures, Valerie Gray in Danny Phantom, Penny in the original Inspector Gadget, and Foxxy Love in Drawn Together. Disney fans will also recognize her work in Pepper Ann, The Buzz on Maggie, and Gargoyles.

Away from acting, Cree is also an accomplished singer-songwriter. In 1999, she released her critically acclaimed debut album Street Faërie, produced by her longtime friend Lenny Kravitz.

Her career continues to thrive today with a recurring role as librarian Rosalyn Inez on ABC's Emmy-winning comedy Abbott Elementary. She has also earned consecutive Children's & Family Emmy Award nominations for voicing Lizard in Netflix's Spirit Rangers.

With hundreds of acting and voice credits to her name, Cree Summer has inspired generations through unforgettable performances on screen and behind the microphone.
