🩷💛 GIRLLLL!!! WHAT IF THE RELATIONSHIP IS ONLY WORKING BECAUSE YOU'RE DOING ALL THE WORK?! 👀💭
WHEEWWWWW!!! Now THAT'S something to think about!
💕 THINK ABOUT IT THURSDAY 💕
Life has a way of teaching us some valuable lessons about love, relationships, expectations, and reciprocity. And BABYYYY, some lessons you don't learn from a book. You learn them from LIFE!
One of the greatest lessons I've learned is that being connected to someone and being supported by someone are not always the same thing.
And GIRL, there's a difference between enjoying someone's company and being able to count on their contribution to the relationship.
Sometimes we're so committed to loving people, believing in their potential, and extending grace that we don't recognize how much of the relationship we've assumed responsibility for maintaining.
But here's what I've come to understand:
💕 You can love someone without carrying the entire relationship.
💕 You can extend grace without continually compensating for someone else's lack of participation.
💕 You can appreciate someone's presence without expecting them to show up in ways they have not demonstrated the capacity or willingness to do.
💕 And you can adjust your expectations WITHOUT adjusting your LOVE!
Now, don't misunderstand me, SIS! Every relationship won't be 50/50 every day. Life happens! Seasons change! Sometimes we carry one another, and sometimes we need someone to carry us.
That's the beauty of genuine sistHERhood!
But there's a difference between supporting someone through a season and sustaining a relationship single-handedly.
And sometimes the most loving thing we can do is recognize that difference.
The Word reminds us in Galatians 6 to bear one another's burdens while also carrying our own responsibilities.
Love is freely given, but healthy relationships are cultivated through mutual participation.
And GIRL, that's not just about what we receive. It's also about what we contribute!
Because while we're reflecting on who shows up for US, we ought to be equally willing to ask ourselves:
How am I showing up for the people God has connected to ME? 💛
Now THAT'S where growth begins!
💭 SO LET ME ASK YOU, GIRL...
Have you ever had to learn the difference between loving someone and carrying the relationship?
And what has life taught YOU about genuine support, reciprocity, and healthy expectations?
Let's talk in the comments! Your experience might be the wisdom another woman needs today. 🩷
Because genuine sistHERhood isn't just about being connected. It's about being intentional with how we love, honor, value, and show up for one another.
