Red House Roasters Get to know great coffee. Red House Roasters’s wholesale and home-delivery options bring the best coffee beans in the planet to your home or business.

Our beans are ethically sourced from around the globe and roasted in Newark, New Jersey. Red House Roasters began in Weehawken in the summer of 2009. Garden State natives (and relative newlyweds) Richard Seidenberg and Stacey Feder were smitten with one another, and with the notion that if you build a business doing what you love, you can make a life to be proud of. Among their many shared interests are travel, craftsmanship, a commitment to community and an appreciation of great food. Both had grandparents that were makers. A butcher in Newark; a seamstress and a tailor in the Bronx. Respect for craft was already in their DNA when they met for the first time at Doll’s Place in New Brunswick, and they fell in love like sugar loves cream. A trip to Costa Rica sealed their coffee destinies. Rick became enamored with the mastery of roasting — developing quality through trial and error, batch after batch of beans they imported themselves. More than a decade later, this approach to food science guides the business, and is influenced by a love of history, storytelling and Latin American culture. Today, Red House Roasters sources, imports and roasts the best coffee beans on the planet. As part of our continuing commitment to the craft, we are proud members of the Specialty Coffee Association of America, and we routinely participate and compete in events to showcase our coffees and share knowledge with other master roasters from around the world.

Jazz, Newark and a morning cup of coffee! ☕🎷

Behind the Beans is back at New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) this time with Gregory Burrus Productions, jazz promoter, producer and a familiar face in Newark’s live music scene.

The TD James Moody Jazz Festival is coming up November 6–22 at NJPAC and venues throughout the city, and Gregory’s got plenty to say about the music, the people and the exciting changes happening here.

His favorite coffee pairing? A jazzy breakfast combo. 😄

See you at the fest! 🎵 🎺 🎶

A New Seasonal Blend

Some like it light. Some like it dark. And some like it Dark Knight.

Dark Knight is a standout seasonal blend of coffees from Costa Rica and Sumatra, creating a rich, full-bodied dark roast with notes of dark chocolate, low acidity and a lasting finish. It’s the perfect pairing for Halloween leftovers, and just right to kick-start a chilly fall morning.

Dark Knight is new, and available online for a limited time.

70 kilos. 154 pounds. One very determined roaster.

Fresh Colombian green coffee arrives to our Newark Roast House by the truckload, and that’s when you can find our founder taking care of business.

From Nariño to Newark...

Our passion for coffee has always started at origin.

Our own Camilo Sanchez grew up in Buesaco, in Colombia's Nariño region, as a third-generation coffee producer. His grandfather grew coffee, his mother worked with local farmers, and Camilo spent his summers on the family farm picking coffee and learning the craft.

Today, Camilo works with us here in Newark while his family continues to connect us with coffee producers throughout Nariño. His uncle José has introduced us to coffees from a network of roughly 2,000 producers in the region.

Direct trade relationships like this help ensure exceptional quality and flavor while supporting our commitment to ethical sourcing.

And as a family-owned company ourselves, there’s something especially meaningful about sourcing coffee through another family that has made it their life’s work.
