July’s’s FIRST Friday theme is the 4th of July!

Join us downtown on FIRST Friday and start the holiday weekend by visiting downtown businesses on Friday, July 3. Enjoy live music in the Eagle Street parklet at 7:00 p.m. by Songs of Peace and Protest Choir, Christa Tinari and Peter Glazer, and Carry It On (Deborah Burns, Bruce Wheat, and Peter Glazer).

Downtown businesses will have extended hours and many galleries will be hosting openings, closings, and other special events! The following events have been planned by downtown and organizations businesses:

Common Folk: Craft Night - a laid back casual meetup for local and visiting makers | 6:00– 8:00 p.m. | 165 E Main Street
Door Prize: First Fridays Dance Party on the Patio with DJs Ciarra Fragale and Sombre Picante | 8:00–10:00 p.m. | 40 Main Street
Future Lab[s]: Opening Reception for Joanna Gabler: Iridescent Dimensions and Marjorie Kaye: Opaque Dimensions | 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. | 43 Eagle Street
Gallery North: Opening Reception featuring works by a Guest Artist. The exhibit will accompany new work by permanent gallery artists Marilyn Cavallari, Sean McCusker, Barbara Patton, Stephen Dankner, and Carol Shumans | 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. | 9 Eagle Street
Rosasco’s Gallery | Artful Mind Gallery | First Opening - First Friday |5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. | 12 Holden Street
Steeple City Social: Special cocktails, light bites, and tunes by Abigail Dustin | 5:00–10:00 p.m. | 5 Eagle Street

Join us downtown on FIRST Friday and kick off June to CELEBRATE PRIDE in North Adams, MA. Make your own FREE accessory to wear to North Adams Pride on June 12 with a craft table hosted under the Mohawk Theatre awning from 6–8pm.

May’s FIRST Friday theme is Flower Power! Jump into Spring by supporting our downtown businesses in North Adams, attending local art gallery receptions, and meeting your community on the town.

Businesses will have extended hours and many galleries will be hosting openings, closings, and other special events! The following events have been planned by downtown businesses and organizations:

Plant Connector: Interactive May-Day experience- tie a ribbon onto a wishing branch, create small hand-tied bouquets and more | 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. | 73 Main Street

MASS MoCA: Better Together Block Party with MCLA | 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. | Ctyd. A - 1040 MASS MoCA Way

Installation Space: Scatter, interactive particles screen | 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. | 49 Eagle Street

MOSAIC: Opening Reception for Signs of Life: Inventions of Sickly and Virtuous Minds | 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. | 51 Main Street

Future Lab[s]: Opening Reception for Figurative Magic with artists Casey Albert, Matt Bernson, and Patricia Symonds-Powell | 6:00– 8:00pm | 43 Eagle Street

Common Folk Artist Collective: Common Craft Night! Bring your own project to work on and chat with friends and fellow artists. | 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. | 165 E Main Street

Savvy Hive: Resource Hive - In solidarity with the call for a General Strike, Savvy Hive will be offering a pay what you can model on secondhand clothing, shoes, and accessories, and will be collecting mutual aid donations of toiletries, diapers, clean/new underwear/socks/bras, and other non-perishable items. Plus, Molly & Herbs, a local herbalist, will be offering a free herbal clinic from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. | Resource Hive 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. | 53 Main Street
