All Free Range Guitars are born and raised here. My mission here at Free Range Guitars is to offer a great couch, camping, road trip type guitar that will give you years of enjoyment, and will also rock the joint anytime you're ready. I began my relationship with the guitar over 50 years ago but never really bonded with acoustic guitars. Electric guitars - now that's where I'm at! I would rather p
lay an unplugged electric than an acoustic. About 2003 I attended a vintage guitar show in Marin County and played my first ever battery operated guitar amp, the Roland Cube. A fellow that was selling custom-made guitars had about five of them set-up with headphones for folks to try out his guitars. Mind blowing....I had one in no time flat and was able to play outdoors anywhere I wanted. I didn't have to play at "11" to enjoy it. I could even play softer than acoustic guitar and get the tone I was looking for. My RC also has five different presets from acoustic to plexi, as well as all the effects you need including chorus, phaser, flange, tremelo, delay and reverb. One final thing about the Cube, you can line it out a PA system and peel the paint off the walls while playing with other musicians. Free Range Guitars are produced using new and sometimes used bodies and necks (I prefer new, but good is good either way). I would rather use a good used piece than a cheap new one anytime. Keep in mind I am in the middle of nowhere (over 100 miles to the nearest freeway) in a town of 850 people. I scour pawn shops, flea markets, online options in search of my need to build something with my hands that others can enjoy. No doubt about it, Free Range Guitars is a non-profit dictatorship ran by myself - the King - with a goal of keeping myself busy, out of trouble and continuing to supply others with the joy of music. So this ain't Burger King. You get it my way, but I guarantee you'll have a one of a kind guitar that plays well, sounds good and looks good. Retail sales pretty much suck, in my opinion, and there is no room for a middle-man in my world. I will see you at festivals, craft shows, farmer's markets, on the street corner, in the alley - whatever it takes. If you are looking for a killer guitar for less than $300, you have arrived. Free Range Guitars is for you. Down home guitars, down home prices.
