State #50, Stop #55! Okay, Hawaii. We get it. One of the best for last... The Nook Neighborhood Bistro threw down a 'B'raised 'L'amb 'g'oat cheese 't'omato with lemon mint aioli on ciabatta for our last BLgT of the summer. EPIC. Proceeds from the sandwich went to the Life Foundation, working on HIV/AIDS prevention and services, in addition to resources for the entire LGBT community.

We were lucky to spend some time on the north shore and visit Pearl Harbor. Huge thanks to Airbnb and Hyatt Place Waikiki for sponsoring our stay. And Orbitz for covering our flights. Huge.

Huntsville, AL is HQ for the next few days as we bunker down with our Indiegogo campaign (igg.me/at/blgtusa). We rolled into Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment Center for our event at the lovely Happy Tummy. Their BLgT will be on the menu all summer long benefitting Free2Be! And big shout out to Yellowhammer Brewing for providing local beer. Yum.

Mississippi! State #49 was the biggest surprise of the summer. We connected with celebrity Chef John Currence and his City Grocery restaurant group via Twitter. Yes, Twitter. John is the brains behind last year's brilliant Big Gay Mississippi event that happened in NYC. We met with him and ninja sidekick Olivia in Oxford, and toured many of John's six spectacular restaurants. Proceeds from his BLgTs at Big Bad Breakfast and Lamar Lounge will go towards the incredible Mississippi Gulf Coast Rainbow Center.

Louisiana. One of the worst states for LGBT protections in the country, one of the best places for food. State #48, Stop #53. New Orleans didn't disappoint. Ryan Haro's HARO coffee & chocolate BLgT will donate a portion of their BLgT flatbread proceeds to the LGBT Community Center of New Orleans. So good. Also, we held baby alligators. Because, gators.

TEXAS! They aren't kidding when they say everything's bigger there. Gas stations, personalities, food trucks, and even some hearts. Jacoby's Restaurant & Mercantile, one of Austin's hottest restaurants, hosted us with open arms on their gorgeous outdoor patio. Owner Adam Jacoby's BLgT tacos with benefit OutYouth Austin for the rest of the campaign. We stopped into Houston to see supporters and visit NASA, before heading to Louisiana. Crazy inspiring. Oh and it's confirmed...we're living in the matrix.

New Mexico. One of the BEST states for LGBT protections, amidst a sea of anti-gay states. Niiiice. We stopped into Holy Cow Albuquerque and chatted with the team about putting the BLgT on the menu for the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico. Updates soon! We stopped by Bill's I Scream Ice Cream Shop for some EPIC homemade goodness. And the State Fair was in town, so we popped in before driving through the night to Texas.

State #45, Stop #50. The first sign we saw in Arizona was at a gas station. It read: "Gas. Guns. Gifts. Inside." We knew we were in for an interesting adventure. The owners of Southern Rail brought the love. Their BLgT salad slayed, with proceeds to One N Ten, an amazing organization working with and for LGBT youth in Arizona. In a state of political paradox, one thing is certain - those red rocks are beyond words.
