A quick update from Sweet Elevations.

Today, I will be stepping away from the kitchen for a brief period to focus on recovery and healing following surgery.

As a result, Sweet Elevations will not be fulfilling orders through July 15, 2026. Limited availability will resume thereafter as I gradually return to creating and serving clients.

This small business has been built through your support, trust, encouragement, referrals, kind words, and the countless celebrations you've allowed me to be a part of. For that, I am deeply grateful.

As I take this time to rest and recover, I would be honored if you would keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I would also appreciate prayers for my surgeon and medical team—that they are guided with wisdom, skill, steady hands, and compassion throughout the procedure and recovery process.

I look forward to returning refreshed and ready to continue creating meaningful desserts and memorable experiences for your celebrations.

A great cake should look like the celebration.

A memorable cake should feel like the person being celebrated.

For this 50th birthday celebration, we worked to capture the overall theme while incorporating something else that mattered just as much—his love for all things lemon.

From the cake flavor to the lemon curd filling and lemon buttercream, every bite was designed with the guest of honor in mind.

Sometimes the most meaningful details aren't the ones you see.

They're the ones that make someone smile and say,

"That's my favorite."

The best celebrations feel personal.

And those are always my favorite cakes to create.

The gold details.
The framed photographs.

But what many don't see is where those details came from.

Before I began designing this cake, I learned about the woman being celebrated—her family, her personality, and pieces of her story.

Those conversations became the inspiration behind every design choice.

The photographs weren't simply decoration.
The quote wasn't added just to fill a space.

Together, they helped tell the story of a woman who has spent 90 years creating memories, building relationships, and leaving a legacy for those she loves.

For me, the most meaningful designs begin with listening. When a cake is created with intention, it becomes more than dessert.

It becomes part of the celebration's story

Social media has a funny way of making you feel like you're never doing enough.

Post more.
Create more.
Sell more.
Grow more.

Some days, it can feel like you're constantly chasing the next thing.

Then a client picks up their cake and says, "I'm going to cry."

Or they tell me, "She's never had a pretty cake before."

And suddenly, I'm reminded why I started.

Not everyone ordering a cake is celebrating something extravagant.

Sometimes it's a mother who rarely puts herself first.
Sometimes it's a daughter who wants her dad to feel special.
Sometimes it's someone who has spent years making everyone else feel celebrated and is finally getting a moment of their own.

The cake is beautiful, yes.

But the real privilege is knowing that something we created becomes part of a memory someone will carry with them long after the last slice is gone.

So if you've been feeling like you're not doing enough, this is your reminder:

The things you do every day may mean more to someone than you'll ever know.

And sometimes, making someone feel special is more than enough.

That's the part of this work I'll never take for granted.
