Believe it or not, prior to starting the pizza business, I was giving some thought to starting a mailbox replacement business. Many mailboxes seem to be in pretty bad shape that you see as you drive through neighborhoods. I eventually decided that people wouldn’t be willing to pay much for new mailboxes and it seemed like it would be a lot of work!
We share a single mailbox stand with three of our neighbors. It was already installed when we moved in 26 years ago and had lasted quite well until someone backed into it a few weeks ago.
Having now gone through the process of removing the old mailbox, building the new one and installing it I can confidently say I’m glad I went the pizza route instead. 😁😁
The only “before” picture I have is the old mailbox pulled up and sitting in my trailer to take to Papillion dump days. 😁
It was also my first time using post hole diggers in about 45 years since growing up on the farm. We used to say that we earned our “PHD” in the spring when we were digging lots of post holes to repair fence.
