They say there are nearly 15,000 dispensaries across this country. Fewer than 2% of those, that’s about 300 Black-owned dispensaries nationwide. Fewer still are rooted in the culture that carried cannabis through centuries of struggle.
We’ve lived those struggles. Doors closed, zoning battles, money roadblocks, a system never built for us. But still we rise.
Jah Rastafari is not just a dispensary. It is a sanctuary. A safe place where family and friends can gather, where the smoke carries stories, healing, and laughter, where Jamaican roots and Rastafari spirit live again.

My name is Aaron Selassie Edwards, Creator and COO of Jah Rastafari Dispensary & Consumption Lounge. Alongside our CEO, Sandra Edwards, we are proud to be a Black owned and women owned business holding a Class 5 Conditional Cannabis License in New Jersey.

Our original plan was to open at 360 Chambers Street in Phillipsburg, NJ the former Edwards Learning Center, now Ase Records. Unfortunately, despite paying taxes and commercial expenses to this very day, our right to operate was taken from us without notice, and we have received no response after reaching out for answers.

But this is only the beginning. Our mission is to create more than a dispensary we are building an experience rooted in Rastafarian and Jamaican culture. Jah Rastafari Dispensary will be a place where people can enjoy premium cannabis in a safe, uplifting consumption lounge, while connecting to community, heritage, and the healing energy of Jah.

We are now inviting investors, partners, and supporters to join us on this journey. Together, we can bring something powerful, cultural, and needed to New Jersey.
