Dear Friends and Family,
One of our Troop 228 scouts, Austin Butler, is trying to earn funding for his Eagle project. His goal is to raise $1000.00 for the purchase of materials. Austin started scouts as a Tiger when our son Jonathan started. The two have journeyed together from being a Tiger to now working on the highest rank of Eagle Scout.
Austin’s project has two components:
1. Creating care package bags filled with essentials and comforting items for children in challenging situations. These bags will be carried by Reedley Police Department officers and distributed to children they encounter, providing them with a sense of security and care during difficult times.
2. A restoration and maintenance of the memorial in Minkler dedicated to Corporal Javier Bejar and Deputy Joel Wahlenmire. This memorial holds deep significance as it honors the bravery and sacrifice of these two individuals who gave their lives in service to our community. By restoring this memorial, Austin hopes to ensure that their memory is preserved with the respect and honor they deserve.
