Tough times never last, but tough people do.

I’ve been learning the quiet power of slowing my pace — letting the day unfold instead of rushing past its softer edges. And today, that choice opened the door to something magical.

I was out with a friend and a youngster when a momma deer and her youngsters appeared, stepping into the open like a little family of miracles. They weren’t just grazing or passing through. They were in full play mode — hopping, nudging, darting around each other with that carefree joy only nature seems to understand.

Watching them felt breathtaking on its own, but sharing it made the moment bloom even wider. I could feel my own sense of wonder mixing with the pure excitement of the youngster beside me. Seeing the scene through their eyes made everything brighter, more alive. It reminded me how different the world looks when you borrow someone else’s awe for a moment.

Time softened around us. The air felt gentler. And in that stillness, I realized again why slowing down matters — it’s how these small, shimmering moments find their way in.

Today, I heard them.

And I don't care who is watching.

There’s something powerful about having cheerleaders in your corner as you chase your life goals. Not the pom‑pom kind—though that would be fun—but the people who show up with steady belief, gentle nudges, and the kind of encouragement that makes you stand a little taller when life tries to shrink you.

Today, I’m posting a picture of one of my greatest cheerleaders: my mother. She has been a continuous source of support, the voice that reminds me I’m capable, worthy, and built for the dreams I’m pursuing. When the road gets bumpy, she’s the one who says, “Keep going, you’ve got this,” with a confidence that somehow makes the mountain feel a little smaller.

Cheerleaders don’t just clap for your victories—they hold space for your doubts, celebrate your progress, and lend you belief on the days you’re running low. They remind you that you’re not walking alone, that your dreams matter, and that someone is rooting for you with their whole heart.

So here’s to the cheerleaders—the mothers, friends, mentors, and quiet supporters who lift us higher than we could ever rise on our own. Their love is the wind at our back, and their encouragement is often the spark that keeps us moving forward.

Feeling grateful today, and feeling blessed to have her in my corner as I continue to grow, dream, and reach for what’s next.

Reviews are the lifeblood of an indie author’s world. When you publish independently, you don’t have a big marketing team, national campaigns, or a publicity machine pushing your work into readers’ hands. What you do have is the power of genuine voices—real readers sharing real reactions. A single review can help a book find its audience, boost visibility in crowded marketplaces, and reassure new readers that your stories are worth their time. Reviews don’t just support the book; they support the author behind it, reminding us that our words are landing where they’re meant to.

So to everyone who has ever taken a moment to leave a few lines, a rating, or even a simple “I loved this”—thank you. Your support doesn’t just help the book grow; it helps the author keep going. Your voice truly makes a difference.

Ready to relax and forget my worries.

I had a friend ask me recently if I enjoyed being an indie author. While I am not one that usually grasps for labels, I couldn't help but loudly exclaim "yes!"

Being an indie author can leave you wiped out—you’re the writer, designer, marketer, and late‑night problem‑solver. But the payoff is pure gold. You get creative control, financial control, the freedom to shape your story exactly the way it feels in your heart. No gatekeepers, no compromises, just your voice leading the way.

And tucked inside the hustle are those soft, sweet moments: choosing a cover that feels right, writing a scene that makes you smile, hearing from a reader who connected with your words. That’s the magic. That’s the reward.

Exhausting sometimes, yes. But nothing beats building something that’s fully, beautifully yours.
