Bandito’s Burrito Lounge would like to clear up any miscommunication and/or dissemination of misinformation regarding events held in the Diablo Room of Bandito’s on July 3rd & 4th.

Our private event space is a neutral home to many band line-ups, weekly karaoke, corporate events, and private celebrations held by those groups themselves in our space.
July 3rd was a fundraiser hosted by the Richmond Community Legal fund, which helps secure legal support and resources for some of the most vulnerable immigrant neighborhoods. The anti-fourth slogan the organizers chose to use on their flyer was highlighting the lack of freedom or independence they feel those immigrant neighborhoods have. It was not meant as an Anti-American event, it was quite the opposite.

After an unrelated event on July 4th, a patron, who attended that show who was not associated with Bandito’s or any of the organizers who hosted the shows, chose to graffiti neighboring businesses. Neither are tied.

A local business using social media tried to connect the graffiti on the morning of July 5th to the event on July 3rd, thus insinuating Bandito’s supports the verbiage of the graffiti itself. That could not be further from the truth.

The actions of one should not cloud the good created by all of these groups which host their events at Bandito’s Burrito Lounge. Bandito’s will continue to support local music, local art, freedom, and provide a safe space for us to collectively come together to celebrate ALL things!
