When did we all agree moms like brunch? Was there a vote? A brunch summit? A secret brunch council? We honestly don’t know. We are famously brunchless over here at Offbeat Coffee. No pancakes. No mimosas. No guy named Trevor explaining aioli to you.

BUT… Salem actually has some killer brunch spots, so here are a few places we genuinely think your mom would love:

— cozy atmosphere, huge portions, and the type of breakfast that makes you need a nap afterward. In a good way.

— apparently Gordon Ramsay reviewed this place online? Which feels sus. But also… this place absolutely slaps. Gordon was right.

— there’s a decent chance you’ll have to wait forever or physically fight for your table, but honestly that’s part of the experience now. Show mom you can handle a mid morning brawl.

— one of Salem’s underrated gems. Plus the drive out there gives you extra time to tell your mom she was right about literally everything.

Hello everyone 🐰 Hopefully April Fools didn’t take you out this year. We’ve got three things for you: spring specials, reservations, and we’re hiring.

Spring specials are here. Scroll through and take a look. Floral drinks are back! Lavender latte, In Bloom, Petal to the Metal…. and yes, Strawberry Fields Forever made the cut again.

Quick reminder: reservations at Offbeat are free during business hours. Just fill out the form on our website and we’ll take care of the rest. If you want the whole place, we also do after-hours rentals. $150/hour gets you the space, two baristas, and full control of the vibe. Music, layout, whatever you’ve got in mind. Just message us for details.

Cherry blossoms are doing their thing in Salem this weekend. If you weren’t planning on going, do yourself a favor and go experience it! Offbeat and Furbish are a short walk from Bush Park, and Bush Park is a short walk from downtown where the cherry blossoms are… blossoming at both locations. Flash the dog in picture 4 is skeptical about the nice weather… but why would the weather app lie, Flash?!?! Grab a drink and a Manna pastry, swing through Furbish and live your best vintage nostalgic life, then go find those trees and pretend you’re a ninja in a John Woo movie. (Millennials know what we’re talking about)
Real quick… our spring specials drop Tuesday the 24th. Which means STRAWBERRY FIELDS IS BACK! Last year you guys almost took us out with how many of these you ordered. It’s an iced matcha with vanilla and house-made strawberry cold foam. We’re whisking everything by hand because batching it feels illegal, and the fridge is stocked with strawberry liquid foamy gold. *not actually golden*

Hey cuties. It’s your friendly neighborhood coffee shop. We’re looking ahead to 2026 and we have plans. Upgrades. Mildly ambitious ideas for you to ponder. If you’re more of a “just walk the walk, buddy” type, we respect it. We still love you. For the real ones who enjoy a little vision casting, here’s what’s coming:
OFFBEAT MERCH. We locked our designers in a room and told them to make things you will actually want to wear, carry, and drink out of. No AI. No shortcuts. Just real artists making real things. Turns out humans are still undefeated. We will be supporting local creatives and paying them actual money. Revolutionary concept. More to come on this…
The Garage Upgrade. You all love that back garage area more than we expected. Long tables. Conversation pit. Productive chaos. So we’re upgrading it. Think more natural light. Warmer. Cleaner. Elevated but still Offbeat.
More Collaboration. We want to collab with… Businesses. Artists. Schools. Wineries. Restaurants. Other coffee shops. Grocery stores. Etc... If you make something interesting or have a great idea, we probably want to talk. Collaboration is becoming part of our DNA. Drop names in the comments or DM us and we’ll try to make it work.

Hi. It’s us again.
We don’t post often, but when we do, it’s longer than a Charles Dickens novel.
First: winter drinks are here. The Peppermint Mocha is back. Dark chocolate, peppermint syrup, espresso on tap, and finished with candy cane chunks. Next, a Gingerbread Latte made with our molasses simple syrup, house-made ginger concentrate, and espresso on tap. Finished with a little cinnamon on top. And finally, our version of Egg nog. Scratch-made and steamed to perfection. It is not your normal eggnog. It has its own personality. Come meet it. We’re very proud.
Second: gift cards.
You can put any amount on them. Even a million dollars.
Nothing says “I love you” like financially reckless affection.
Third: Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers.
The hutch is full. Christmas vinyl, handmade jewelry, loose-leaf tea from , Offbeat mugs, and a variety of things you didn’t know you needed. We also have that sparkly glitter syrup for your Christmas morning pancakes. Because if breakfast isn’t festive, what are we even doing?

Who’s going to the grocery store today?? Cuz you’re about to do battle. But for real, we had to go pick up some milk this morning and almost died in aisle 5. Does anyone have any extra green beans??
We are going to close up shop tomorrow for Thanksgiving, so don’t come in. Also, for future scheduling endeavors, we decided to make a “Holiday Nope Calendar” for days in December we will be closed. We realize you’ll have to pinch-zoom-in to read it… so we will make sure to have a physical copy at Offbeat for you.
Btw- winter specials show up the first week of December, so buy that P-spice by the gallon while you still can. Eggnog, gingerbread and peppermint is on the way.

What up dorks!
It’s chai season and we are live laugh loving it. Jacob decided to make a chai armada this season. Smoky, Spicy, Sweet and pumpkin. Drinking chai in the fall is like a hot dog on Fourth of July. Or like… champagne at a wedding… or like… peppermint schnapps at your grandpa’s birthday… or like being a “tricks only” household on halloween. Take that, crumb crunchers! Just kidding, we love you little kiddos. So much so that we have kid specials all year round. Full of extra whip cream and extra marshmallows. Obvi.
Anyway… The pumpkin spice is flowing like wine over here on 12th street. Come get a drink and go check out old stuff at Furbish.

Fall drinks are cool and all, but let’s talk about the wood work that makes Offbeat feel vibey. Every chunk of custom work you see… our front workbench, that orange-epoxy round table, the waterfall tables in the record room, the door framing, CNC signage, even the ticket rail… It all came from the crew at the Furbish Custom Shop.
They moved from Turner to a shiny new shop on Broadway in Salem and finally joined social media, so we’re hijacking their first post with a collaboration. Scroll the pics to see their handiwork and then go follow them.

Hello from Offbeat and Furbish on 12th Street. Quick question: when do we call it Fall and when do we call it Autumn? Saying “Autumn” feels like wearing a scarf you learned how to knot from a Pinterest board called “Forestcore,” while sipping loose leaf tea. Hashtag blessed.

Like, this Tuesday the 16th. All the hits from last year are back. If we had to pick one drink to enter the ring and fight for our honor, it would be our made-from-scratch pumpkin spice.
