A few weekends ago, we had the honor of providing breakfast for the Black Business Forum, hosted through the collaboration of the Black Chambers of Commerce here in San Antonio and the African American Leadership Institute.
The event has stayed with me.
The more I grow in this business, the more I realize that food is just the vehicle—but people are the destination.
Sure, we serve breakfast. But what we’re really serving is a space where conversations for empowerment begin, relationships are built, ideas are exchanged, and community is strengthened. Being able to witness Black entrepreneurs, professionals, and leaders gather around one table reminded me that hospitality has the power to bring people together in ways that go far beyond the meal itself.
Thank you to everyone who trusted The Chef Kaius Xperience to be a part of such a meaningful morning. It’s always an honor to serve something bigger than food.

Use today to speak life into somebody.
You never know what battle they’re fighting in silence or what one conversation might pull them through.
A few words of encouragement may seem small to you, but to someone else, they could become the seed that grows into confidence, hope, healing, or the courage to keep going.
We spend so much time pointing out what’s wrong. Today, try pointing out what’s possible.
Plant good seeds. Water them with kindness. Leave the harvest to time.
You never know how far your words will travel.

I’ve been reading The Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene, and it’s been doing more than helping me understand other people…it’s been forcing me to understand myself.

It’s easy to study human nature from a distance until you realize you’re human too.

The book has become a mirror, exposing some of my own unconscious thoughts, biases, and tendencies. It’s reminded me that every one of us is flawed by nature, yet somehow complete in nature too. We all have weaknesses, blind spots, insecurities, and contradictions. That’s part of being human but even the greatest leaders, thinkers, and people we admire have flaws.

Recognizing someone else’s imperfections shouldn’t become an excuse to stop working on your own character…

I have to remind myself of this often because I’m just as guilty of judging people. Whenever I catch myself forming opinions, I try to pause and remember this:
My thoughts about another person do not change the trajectory of my life. My actions do.

The more we understand human nature, especially our own…the more grace we can extend to others, and the more intentional we can become with ourselves.

None of us are perfect and rarely do other people imperfections control our own opportunities to become better.

Peace.

Chefs… how y’all spending that s*** this summer? 😂
We just dropped a huge bag on the next wave of CKX uniforms, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I believe the full Xperience isn’t just about the food. It’s about every detail, and that starts with a team that looks just as sharp as the service they provide.
Can’t wait to work with again. My guy always gets us right. 🔥 Be on the lookout for the new CKX uniforms, and if you’re looking to elevate your brand, tap in with him.

Good food is accessible.

Good food and great service is a vibe.

But good food, great service, and intentional presentation?

Now we’re talking diamond.

That’s the standard we bring to every special event. Flavor that feels familiar, service that feels personal, and presentation that makes the moment unforgettable.
Let us bring The Chef Kaius Xperience to your next celebration.

Four tips to becoming one of the best private chefs or caterers in your area:
Network.
It’s not always what you know, it’s who you know. A lot of the information you need to get to the next level is best learned from someone already doing what you’re trying to do, or already doing what you’re currently doing at a higher level.
Have a good product.
Don’t just make food that you like. Test your product with the market and make sure other people actually want it, love it, and are willing to pay for it.
Build a team.
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. In this industry, longevity is what helps you build wealth, and you need a solid team to help you sustain the vision.
Remember that hospitality is about people.
If your work falls under the hospitality umbrella, your purpose is to take care of people. Do it with a good spirit, because how you make people feel is what keeps the right clients coming back.
These are four things that helped me grow, and I hope they help somebody else trying to build something real.

A first-time guest gave us some unexpected feedback yesterday:
“Y’all need your name everywhere.”
So now I’m curious…
Should we brand more at our events, or keep the focus fully on the client’s occasion?
Tasteful branding or full CKX takeover?
