I have officially distributed all the clothing from April clothing swap co-hosted with during the Twilight Agora.

Thank you to everyone!

Adult clothing went to Kristas Culinary Creations located on Mainland and Bandera.
KCC has a small in store pay-what-you-can thrift shop as well as a Meal Ministry. Follow her on Facebook when you can!

Children's clothing went to in Universal City.
Thrifty Hippie Community Thrift is a non profit community thrift store that has set pricing on clothing. Meaning all your shirts will cost the same instead of price fluctuating, which helps keep clothing price accessible.

The kids items and assistive devices(canes, walkers) are free. So all that kids clothing donated will go right back into the community with no barrier to cost(mutual aid at its finest 💚)

Why these Agoras? Why so community gather/hang out oriented?

Once upon a lifetime ago, I deployed to Iraq. During that time I did worked in the detention centers/dining facilities and I was a convoy driver.

During that time, I ended my marriage, had my bank account cleared, had a Line of Duty injury that wasn't being formally acknowledged, and I was 22 going on 23 in Iraq.
Par for the course for a lot of us back then though.

Anyhoo, during this all, there was an outdoor plaza/patio area called Lost Lake at the edge of the camp. Had Chinese food, Mediterranean food, hookahs with fresh fruit, cigar shop, projector with music videos. And every now and again, we would hike over and just get to exist as people for a little bit. Yeah, we're in a combat zone and always alert but for a moment, we were also just humans.

All these years later, I realize that's what I work to recreate, the vibe of being able to just show up and be human for a bit and that that's enough.

Sh*ttake mushrooms happen and sometimes we just gotta cx cuz life is life.

I'm having one too from the pressure changes that I probably shouldn't try to force past it because that just makes it worse.
