These farmed fish are confined to pens and raised on artificial feed pellets designed to fatten them up quickly. Wild Alaska sockeye salmon, on the other hand, swim thousands of miles in the freezing, clean waters of the North Pacific. They sustain themselves on a natural, wild diet of krill and small crustaceans. This is what gives our ocean-run sockeye its iconic, vibrant, deep-ruby color and robust, clean flavor.
