Aanii Everyone! 👋🏽

Well, we’ve had a change of plans. Our owner, Julia Martell, admits she was a bit ambitious trying to hit four powwows this year. Her team was finally able to talk some sense into her!

Due to all of us working full time, as well as most of our team being full time members of team toddler, we will only be able to make it to TWO powwows.

We have to prioritize quality over quantity at the moment. We don’t want to risk comprising our ability to feed the powwow people of Michigan good food.

Sugar Island Traditional Pow Wow in July and the Peshawbestown Powwow in August will be it for us in 2026

‼️ BUT THERE IS GOOD NEWS ‼️

At Sugar Island this year, we will be debuting an all day menu!

Keep an eye out for that announcement. 😉

BOO!-Zhoo.

I hope you all didn’t forget about us! Chick’s is still here and we’re still small but very mighty.

As always, we’re operating at a fairly limited capacity.

Chick’s will be popping up at four powwows this year. (All Sacred! 😝🤍💛🖤❤️) One for each of the major “powwowing” months: June, July, August and either May or September.

We’ll let you all know the when and where when we know so keep an eye out for those announcements! 😉

And as always, we’re the only ones this side of turtle island selling Breakfast Hot Pockets: frybread stuffed with scrambled eggs and sausage gravy! 🍳

What a great time serving up some frybread for the community at the last traditional cookout of the season!

We’re so incredibly grateful and proud to be able to give back in such a good way. Food is sacred. It’s the centerpiece of our gatherings.

Granted frybread isn’t the most traditional of foods, it certainly has become a modern staple.

Slave food, struggle meal or a token of resistance… however you classify frybread one fact remains…. It’s a testament to what we can do when we’re given nothing; our people create miracles. ❤️

Although we won’t be selling anything, Chick’s will be setting up and helping out at the last scheduled traditional cookout of the year.

We will be providing frybread on the 23rd of this month! Only 3 weeks from today!

Come support GTB’s agricultural department and eat some good food straight from the tribal farm. ☺️

Our sincerest apologies to anybody who showed up to the stand and we weren’t there! We were rained out; both our camping stuff and a lot of our product was ruined by the first rain. The first thing on our to-do list is to prevent any future mishaps and weatherize our operation. 🌧️

In the meantime, we will find a better way to communicate what our plans are and what we’ve got going on in order to be more reliable.

We appreciate you all for showing up for us and we promise to show up for you in the future. ❤️

We have been rained out! Chick’s won’t be able to open Sunday morning. 😞

We are not weather proof unfortunately; we must yield to the elements! ⛈️

Gtchi miigwetch for everyone who came out to support us today tho! We really appreciate you all! 🫶🏽 This was our last weekend this powwow season. What a way to wrap another year up! 😂

But it’s been a pleasure serving Indian country breakfast. Keep an eye out for any announcements or surprise events/pop-ups that may happen. We never know what we’re doing until we’re doing it!
