Big things brewing on the land…
Solar’s soaking up the sun
Gravel mountains conquered by sheep
Eggs headed for the hatch
And boots muddy from real work

The Kubota growls.
The trees whisper.
And somewhere in the middle of it all—
We’re building something that feeds the future.
With dirt under our nails and purpose in our stride.

Meet Bongwater! She is the Vixen (Female Fox) in charge of this territory. She has had at least one litter of kits (litter of foxy babies) on our farm. Yes, she has eaten a bunch of our chickens in the past. None over the last year. People ask why we don't shoot her, well as the Commanding Officer says, killing her will only open a territory vacuum, which means we would have to fend off all the foxes looking to establish themselves here.

Another question people like to ask. Why did she stop attacking our chickens? Well, we protect them better. And because we have livestock feed and compost piles, we also have RATS, and guess who likes to eat RATS? You guessed it, Bongwater and her skulk (fox pack)!!!!

Cold rainy planting day, but the plants are tucked in cozy with our sheep's wool as mulch. Big thanks to everyone who has lent their time, hands, knowledge, and love to get us to this point. We also seeded the next phase to go outdoors early June.

At the height of COVID, we were happy to open our home and farm to folks seeking open and welcoming spaces. Over the last 2 years, we have gotten to know hundreds of guest that either stayed overnight in one of our glamping sites or shared a special event like birthdays, weddings, and other family gatherings. To all of you who shared our dream, thank you for your support and for choosing us.

As of today, Hacienda Don Pedro is shifting gears and will no longer host events or campers on our property. We are turning our attention to farming this land by growing fruits, veggies, caring for our live stock, and doubling down on building our soil through regenerative agricultural practices.

This doesn't mean you can't visit. To all of our new friends, feel free to reach out and stop by. We can use all the help we can get and happy to break bread.

Content creation is a skill set all of its own. Sometimes I struggle to keep up with this learning curve and attention needed to ensure we continue to grow our audience. The farm and a new baby are each full time jobs on their own, it's hard to keep up even with the help of extra hands. A practice in patience, gratitude, and kindness get me through, combined with a little hustle, grit, and extra communication.

I'm proud of the progress we have made so far. Each day we dot a few more i's and cross a few more t's.

After a small human, the newest addition is our first be hive! has worked with bees in the past, and is very excited to grow with them again. But we pretty sure Luna is more excited for bee keeping than us. Ever since she was a puppy (now 10 years old), she always laid around the hive. Her favorite thing to do is eat bee's.

David had to wear hearing protection to keep his stress level down. Something about that buzzing sound...
