🎓 This past weekend we were celebrating my niece graduating from KU School of Medicine 🐦

She's grown into an incredible woman, an amazing mother, and someone who has worked unbelievably hard to get where she is today. Watching her balance family, life, and the demands of medical school has been inspiring. She earned every bit of this accomplishment, and our family couldn't be happier for her. I've always been a proud uncle, and today is another reason why I'm so grateful that we can celebrate this win as a family.

🌮 Bill's Charcoal Grill handled the catering, serving steak and chicken tacos with beans, elote, and cilantro rice.

🔥 I already knew Bill's could make a great burger. I've had their pasta before too. But these tacos? At this point it just feels unfair.

The steak was beautifully seasoned and tender, and the chicken incredibly juicy and dripping with flavor and everything on the plate was exactly what you hoped for when you were feeding a big group.

🤔 Seriously, is there anything Bill's can't do?

💬 Have you ever used Bill's for catering, or what's your favorite thing on their menu? I've heard they have a banging breakfast spread too!

Asian Night Market absolutely lived up to the hype 🍜🌙

Annual Event

🌃 This was actually my first year going, and Lisa and I were seriously excited for it. We ended up getting VIP tickets so we could get in an hour early, and honestly… that was the move. Even during VIP it was busy, and once general admission started the place PACKED out.

One of my favorite things we tried was the Cloud Matcha from Leaf Teahouse. Super smooth and easily one of the standout drinks of the night.

🍢 My biggest regret? Not grabbing the sausage skewer from Pep’s Thai when we first saw it. We got a chicken skewer early on and wanted to pace ourselves, but by the time we came back the line was probably 60 people deep. At that point we decided to keep moving and try more spots instead.

🍗 surprised me too. Their wings were incredible, and I loved how stuffed the crab rangoons were.

🍽️ We also finally got to try .indianrestaurant since I’ve never made it out there before. Honestly such a good way to end the night.

🐔 And yes… I finally tried chicken feet for the first time 😂 Honestly reminded me a lot of pata in menudo.

❤️ But my favorite part of the whole event was seeing so many booths being run by families. It reminded me of being a kid working events with my dad and brothers. These restaurants aren’t chains — they’re local families putting everything into their food, and you could really feel that throughout the night.

💬 Definitely going back next year. Now we at least know how to attack the event because there is SO much to try.

🇬🇷 First time finally making it out to Mediterranean Fest, and honestly… I get the hype now.

They had plates ready to, and in the evening would have items a la carte.

Everyone was super welcoming right when we walked in and helped explain how everything worked, where the market was, where drinks were, all of it.

🍽️ We grabbed the traditional plate with Greek salad, green beans and rice, kibbee, chicken kebab, talame bread, and baklava

The Greek salad was easily one of my favorite things there. I wanted another one immediately. The dressing was perfect.

🍢 The chicken kebab was super tender, the kibbee had great flavor, and the baklawa was exactly what you want after a meal like this.

🍷 We also tried a Serbian plum brandy that absolutely woke me up 😂 and a Greek beer that I genuinely want to find again because it was really good.

🎶 Music playing, people dancing, welcoming crowds, good food everywhere… just one of those events that makes Wichita feel really alive.

💬 Definitely making this a yearly thing now.

Authentic Pizza Napoletana on a chilly spring afternoon makes everything better 🍕

🍕 We pulled up to Il Forno Perfetto and went with the Il Supremo. Basically everything on it — pepperoni, fresh sausage, peppers, onions, tomatoes, olives, mushrooms… loaded, but it worked. Flavor was there, crust was legit, worth the wait.

🥤 Grabbed an agua fresca from too — tried the new Tropical and yeah… that one’s staying in rotation.

🛍️ Tons of vendors out there too — food, drinks, clothes, all of it. We even found some clothes for a really good price, which made it even better just walking around checking everything out.

🎶 Music going, crowd everywhere, lines all over. Little chilly but nobody cared.

💬 If you missed this one, next Shop N Grub is May 17. I’d pull up.

🔥 We got the rolled tacos topped with asada, and honestly… some of the best I’ve had. Crispy, loaded, and gone fast.

🌮 Also grabbed three tacos and a burrito. Solid as always.

🥤 Had to get the aguas frescas too — watermelon and horchata hit.

Also noticed a new sign for their Taco Tuesday specials, 20 Birria Tacos, 4 Drinks for $40.

🦀 Been here before, and they’ve added a projector since my last visit, which is actually a nice touch if you’re hanging out for a game.

🍹 Started with the Berry Hennessy cocktail. Easy to drink, tasted good, and had enough kick to let you know what time it was.

🔥 We got the crab cakes, then the G Combo Boil with shrimp, snow crab, sausage, scallops, corn, potatoes, and eggs.

🥔 The potatoes were soaked in flavor, the shrimp were solid, and if you know me, you know I’m always happy when scallops are involved. Those were probably my favorite part.

🍜 We added ramen too, because throwing ramen into that leftover sauce is always the move.

🍓 Finished with strawberry cheesecake and cleaned the plate.

💬 If you’re craving a seafood boil, Blue Hook is worth a stop.
