After five incredible years, I’m excited to announce that I’ve sold Spoke Cafe to another young entrepreneur, Jordan Burkle and the Burkle family.

It’s a huge moment for me, and I want to thank everyone who helped me turn this from a simple idea into a real business.

To my family — especially my parents — thank you for always showing up, pushing me, and letting me learn by actually doing. And thank you to the Village of River Forest for being willing to give a business license to something totally new.

Thanks to Susie Goldschmidt and Byline Bank for giving a 11/12 year old an account!

Oak Park Working Moms— you’re the reason my summers were packed.
Your block parties kept me busy year after year, and I’m grateful for every single one.

Huge thanks as well to:
• Sputnik Coffee, for brewing for me in the early days
• Whirlwind Coffee Company, for helping me develop and roast Spoke’s own beans, The Bicycle Blend
• Filbert's Old Time Root B**r for filling my kegs and being part of the journey.

I learned a lot running this company, but the thing I’m most proud of is the support Spoke was able to give to Beyond Hunger. Through sales, donations, fundraisers, and the sale of the business, I was able to donate over $8,000.

Spoke will keep rolling next season under Jordan, and I’ll be around to help him learn the ropes before I head off to college. I’m excited to see where he takes it.

Thank you for every order, every conversation, and every chance to grow and learn.

You can continue to book Events on the Spoke.Cafe website or email [email protected]!
