Just wanted to jump on here to say Merry Christmas to our loyal customers and wonderful staff . This past year has been a blessing and some heart breaks but overall it has been great, I have my wonderful customers to thank for this. We started out just wanting to be a part of a community with a small family cafe. I hope this coming yr will be even better with our upcoming changes. Merry Christmas Everyone. Our clientele this coming yr I know is goin to surpass these past couple years. I believe in honesty and try to run things with integrity, some things I do, I know some people do not understand and thats ok. There is a issue I do want to address though. We have done a fundraiser for Barb, a GoFundMe page to help her and her Family, I have stayed working till wee hours in the morning making up a meal for 20 some people after just finishing a 12 hour shift, due to a panic call that afternoon from one of my 80 yr old customers saying she was in need of help with her family that was coming by that day and asked if I could help.. ya I was tired but no way would I refuse her plea, I only charged her food cost, we have given free meals to people I knew really couldnt afford it , or every once in awhile also give a free meals to loyal customers just to say "Thank You, We Appreciate You" I make our staff scheduling a month ahead giving them time to know which days they need off, I tell them Family First Job Second and let them take the time with kids if needed.
I order in certain food that I keep on hand cause I know one customer enjoys it once in awhile. My prices are low, so you the customer can afford a nice meal out, We also give a discount to everyone not just on certain days or the elderly or military . I am neither a Liar , Cheat or a Thief , Now with saying all of this it has come to my attention that "Some" customers have mentioned about the jar we have at the front counter for donating to Barb at the time before her death and her family after she passed. These certain people who I will not name has made a point of saying they are angry that the jar is still there because Barb is gone, they say I am being greedy and taking advantage of people and I should find a different "Cause". Some has even accused me of taking it for myself. I never wanted to make anyone uncomfortable with asking for them to help and if you did help let me tell you it was, is, and always will be appreciated. Some have even said they will not return to the restaurant because the jar is still there. Let me first say Barb was not a Cause nor her Family, she was a lovely lady with a heart of gold and I never forced anyone to put their hand in their pocket. I honestly was going to take down the jar awhile ago but have not been there due to major health issues, but you know what? I think its going to stay up till after Christmas . So with saying all this I hope our customers have good health, a Merry Christmas , looking forward to your reactions with the changes. But to these small few with small minds please take your money elsewhere and enjoy your overpriced frozen sawdust. Merry Christmas Everyone
