Happy Christmas Eve!!
Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! I can’t believe how many messages and photos I received of you making the recipe I posted last week. Made my heart so happy! Keep them coming! I’m always here to help if you need any guidance.
This year I made a bunch of holiday treats for my family! Lots of work, but giving them out (and eating them 😋) made it all worth it.

Enjoy your family and friend time. Be kind, help each other and Love thy neighbor. 🫶🏼

Happy Sunday!
I made my mom almond cookies a couple days ago and was thinking I should share the recipe with you all!!

🩷ALMOND COOKIES 🩷

1 cup butter (I use salted) softened
1 cup granulated sugar
Mix for two minutes then add
1 egg
2 tsp almond extract
Mix all together
Add
3 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
Combine

Wrap dough in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.

Cut dough in half. Flour surface and add dough, dust flour on top of dough. Roll out to your preferred thickness. After you place on the cookie sheet, lightly sprinkle with sugar.

Preheat oven to 375° bake 6 1/2 minutes, depending on your oven.

Frosting
1 cup margarine
1 cup regular crisco (not buttered flavor)
2 lbs powered sugar
2 tsp almond extract
2 Tbs 2% milk

(If making sugar cookies, use vanilla instead of almond and for the frosting use CLEAR vanilla)

Happy Sunday!!
Don’t get too excited, this is just a long overdue update. 😉
I’m getting messages about holiday cookies. I’m sorry to say that I’m officially completely retired from cookies. I actually sold all of my commercial kitchen equipment over the summer. That was hard for me, but I knew it was the right thing to do.

Things are good for me and I’m really excited to slow down and enjoy this holiday season with my family. I’ve recently started volunteering at our local Food Bank, it’s so rewarding and I really look forward to the interaction and meeting people each day I’m there. I’m making new friends and trying to make a difference in our community.
Kids are both doing well. Brooklynn is busy as ever in her sophomore year with ASB and babysitting a couple days a week. She’s got a big trip coming up this next summer with her French class, so she’s working hard for croissant and gelato money! 🥐
Nolan is doing the college thing and has been at Climate Pledge for over a year now, loving the sports world and waiting for those Sonics to return. 😉
Rick and I celebrated turning 50 over the summer and took an amazing trip to Portugal! Started in Porto, took a train along the Douro Valley, made a few stops along the way, stayed within the castle walls of Óbidos and ended in Lisbon. It was definitely a bucket list trip.

I want to keep my Yummy Cookies page because I know people get ideas and cookie inspiration here, and I love that! I don’t check it often but when I do, I can’t help but smile. Lots of cookies and friendships were made here, I’m very proud of that.
I’m looking forward to making Christmas cookies with Brooklynn for our family gatherings in a few weeks. Maybe I’ll even share some pictures and ideas.

Happy Sunday!
I’m going to miss posting that. 🥹
I started Yummy Cookies 14 years ago not having any idea what a blessing it would be to me and my family. The friendships I’ve made and places it has taken us have been life changing. But as I approach turning 50 this summer, I’m ready for a new adventure. I’m so excited for what’s next and I promise I will share it all with you when the time is right!

Happy Sunday!

I’m overwhelmed with all the love and support you have shown me. Thank you for wanting my cookies for your holiday.
I’ve had the privilege of making cookies for 14 years and a lot of you have been with me the whole time. I’ve created some great friendships and have celebrated many milestones with you. Visiting with you and getting hugs today is what keeps me motivated on those 18 hour days.

Big thanks to my husband, who’s the best assistant, my kids for keeping our porch stocked with cookies, my sister Jen for helping with pick ups, and Kelsie at Field of Beans for letting us set up at her stand.
The last 3 weeks I’ve made 308 dozen almond cookies, 176 dozen sugar cookies and 180 cake pops. All of the smiles and hugs make all the hard work worth it! THANK YOU! ☺️
