Lemon, Ginger, Turmeric & Cinnamon Tea
Ingredients:
* 1 cup (250 ml) water
* 2–3 cm fresh ginger, sliced or grated
* ½ teaspoon ground turmeric (or 2–3 cm fresh turmeric, grated)
* ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (or 1 cinnamon stick)
* Juice of ½ a fresh lemon
* 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
* A pinch of black pepper (optional, but it helps your body absorb curcumin, the active compound in turmeric)
Method
1. Bring the water to a gentle boil.
2. Add the ginger, turmeric, and cinnamon.
3. Simmer for 8–10 minutes.
4. Strain into a mug.
5. Add the lemon juice once the tea has cooled slightly (to help preserve the vitamin C).
6. Stir in honey if desired, and add a pinch of black pepper if using.
