What is SAKAY ? AKA Sylvia’s blend 😅. Sakay means Hot sauce in Malagasy 🇲🇬. I categorised it as a taste of Madagascar in my range of vanilla product along with other spices i import from home. That’s why I named the brand “ The vanilla and a taste of Madagascar “ It is all about the vanilla beans and other spices and hot sauce from Madagascar 🤷🏽♀️😍.
Sakay is like tomato sauce for us😅, it is available on the dining table at all time. Except , we don’t pour big amount, roughly half teaspoon per meal , depending on how is your spicy food level😆, you can add more or less. Malagasy don’t really cook with chilli and spices,especially from the middle part of the country. However the coast people does from time to time , it does vary per culture and origins (…) But in general our food is mostly based on fresh ingredients, organic veggies, fresh herbs only. We have many varieties of endemic plants and veggies and fruits as well to cook and eat daily. Sakay is on the side to compliment the end result. And you can aswell cook it in your curry or stew or serve it on the side as condiments and more 👌❤️
