Sunday Morning IPS at FCC ⛳️

A beautiful Sunday morning at FCC for our IPS competition on 14 June.

The weather was perfect, with just enough wind around to keep things interesting. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the morning. 👏

Most Golf went to Giann Ludike on 18 points. Good to have you around, young man! 🍺

3rd: Nicholas Stewart on 34 points — well played!
2nd: Mojo Woeke on 36 points — no photo today as Mojo left early. 😄
1st: Charl van den Berg on 36 points, winning on a count-in. Well done, Charl! 🏆

Charl also picked up Nearest to the Pin on 9/18, making it a very handy Sunday for him.

The birdie hole was number 12, and Koos Mouton was the winner. 🐦

A very big thank you to Warren and the Shiptech team for their fantastic support. Fridays at FCC are definitely not going to be the same again! 👏🍺

It was another beautiful afternoon at FCC, with some great golf, good laughs and the usual bit of Friday entertainment.

C-Division
Most Golf went to Corné van den Berg, with his dad bravely taking the shooter on his behalf.
3rd: Terri Cawood (38)
2nd: Dave Stewart (37)
1st: Walter Muhl, with a good round on the back nine (36)

B-Division
Most Golf went to Bernard — thanks for the entertainment! (47)
3rd: Paul Dalais (34)
2nd: Cliffy Rudolph, after a count-out (33)
1st: Willie Coetzee, decided by a coin toss between himself and Cliffy. Nothing like a bit of drama on a Friday! 🪙⛳️

A-Division
Most Golf went to Matthew Burgess. (39)
3rd: Wayne Rademan with 31 shots on the back nine
2nd: Angel van Rensburg with 29 shots — you go girl! 👏
1st: Charl van den Berg, also on 29 shots, taking the Shiptech Friday Medal win. Well played! 🏆

Nearest to the Pin on 18 went to Barry Lane — your prize is waiting at the club.

The birdie money rolls over after number 12 was drawn with no winner, and the Joker Draw also rolls over after Justus held the lucky number… but sadly not the lucky card. 🤡🃏

This one is all about risk vs reward with an 18-hole Power Play format. Choose the black flag for double glory… but only if you’re brave enough!

Tee off is from 2pm, with normal fees applying. The competition will be played across the divisions, so bring your best golf and enjoy a great Friday afternoon on the course.

Wacky Wednesday at FCC ⛳️

What a beaut of a day at FCC for Wacky Wednesday.

A small but strong field enjoyed an afternoon out on the back 9, with plenty of laughs along the way.

Most Golf went to Walter Muhl by default… although Walter very generously nominated Willie to handle the shooter duties. That’s teamwork of a different kind. 😄

Terri and John Cawood both finished on 19 points, with John taking it on a count-in. First blood has officially been drawn as this husband-and-wife battle heads towards matchplay. This could get interesting. 👀⛳️

Ola Monthly Mug – June ⛳️

What an absolutely beautiful morning at FCC for our Ola Monthly Mug. A big thank you to Ola Empangeni for the continued support — it is genuinely appreciated by the club and our golfers.

Nearest to the Pin on the 9th went to Charl van den Berg with a cracking shot. 👏

With 18 players in the field, the results were:

4th: Brian Swift
3rd: Kim Swift on 54, after a count-out
2nd: Charl van den Berg on 54, winning the count-in, with 4 birdies nogal!
1st and June Monthly Mug winner: Mauritz “Mojo” Woeke on 53, also with 4 birdies. Great golf, Mojo! 🏆

Mojo received his prizes from Brian Sclanders, representing Ola Empangeni.

We also had a special birthday celebration for Bongani, who had his birthday yesterday. Angel presented him with a cake and a gift from the members.

FCC Matchplay 2026

Thank you to everyone who entered the 2026 Matchplay Competition. Please see the draw below.

The first round must be completed by the end of July, so please arrange a suitable date with your opponent to play your match.

A few notes:

You do not need to play your match on a normal competition day.

If you play on a Friday, please start on the same nine being used for the Friday meat competition. Please also keep two scorecards, as gimmie putts are only allowed for the matchplay competition.

The player with the lower handicap plays off scratch, and the other player plays off the difference between the two handicaps.

You either win, halve or lose each hole. If the match is all square after 18 holes, continue from hole 1 until there is a winner.

Please send through your match results once completed to Teresa and If anyone is unsure about the format, please shout — she’ll gladly help.

What a beautiful day for golf at FCC. The winter sunshine was out, the course was looking great, and as always there were plenty of laughs and banter along the way. 👍🏻⛳️🏌️‍♀️

A big thank you to Captain Teresa for the new shooter glasses. Judging by the reactions, they seem to be a little deeper than expected! 😂🥃
