The Bundaberg Poultry Club's show today was our last show of the season. We had a great time chatting all things chickens with other Fanciers, and got heaps of great advice and tips from the judges.

Now to look towards breeding season 🤯

It's always so lovely when we get sent updates on chicks we have sold 🥰 these RIRx girls are laying everyday and the owner is stoked that the girls haven't lost any condition since starting to lay. The pekins are always trying to be front and centre when she's taking photos 😅, love cuddles, and the always photo ready Buster the Feather Duster loves his girls 🥰

I was feeding the chooks when I couldn't find a hen and the rooster from this pen, when I'd only seen them not long ago. Turns out Romeo was whispering sweet nothings to her while she laid her egg 😅🥰

Romeo is also for sale if anyone is interested :-)

It was time to get on top of the pens now that everyone has finally finished moulting. Hopefully it's a better start to the season for us than last season.

Picture or it didn't happen!! The pictures will also last longer 😏
Our pens aren't the most aesthetic, but they are functional.

9 pens raked today, 4 more to go. We still need to flame torch the edges, perches etc, treat for mites, vent trim, and set up nesting boxes (not that they use them half the time). Almost there 🫠🥴🫣
Hopefully we are ready for when they start to lay again! Got 1st eggs from 2 hens this week 🥳

Ever since someone told me that chooks drinking look like they are at a wine tasting, I can't unsee it 😂🥂

These ladies and their handsome fellows are ready and waiting for their new flocks 🥰
