Every Great Golfer Starts Somewhere

The fairways may have been filled with Australia's rising stars this week, but every one of them began with a single lesson.

These school holidays, give the young person in your life the chance to discover a sport that builds confidence, friendships and skills for life.

Our Junior Beginners Golf Clinic is designed especially for boys and girls trying golf for the very first time. No experience is needed, all equipment is provided, and our small class sizes ensure every child receives plenty of encouragement from our PGA Professionals.

The same coaching team that develops one of the Far South Coast's largest junior golf programmes will help every young golfer feel welcome from the very first swing.

Experience, Friendship and Championship Golf

With more than 70 players already entered, the 2026 Catalina Ladies Veterans Open is shaping up to be one of the strongest fields in the tournament's history.

On Monday 20 July, accomplished golfers from across NSW and the ACT will gather on Catalina's championship course for a day that celebrates everything great about veterans golf. Friendly competition, lasting friendships and golf played with the confidence that comes from years of experience.

There is also plenty at stake.

Catalina's Viv Thornett returns looking to defend the A Grade title she reclaimed in 2025, adding to her previous victory in 2023. Meanwhile, Tuross Head will be aiming to continue its outstanding record after Christine Wratten claimed the 2025 B Grade Championship.

Will Catalina defend home honours, or will another visiting club leave with the silverware?

With the field already larger than last year and entries continuing to arrive, now is the time to secure your place in one of the South Coast's premier ladies golf events.

The Future of Australian Golf Celebrated on the Far South Coast.

The final round of the 2026 Jack Newton Junior Golf State Age Championships concluded today, bringing four outstanding days of championship golf to a close across Catalina Club and Moruya Golf Club.

Congratulations to Victoria's Feiyu Xing and Elbert Kim, who produced exceptional golf throughout the week to be crowned the 2026 State Age Champions.

Just as importantly, congratulations to every young golfer who travelled from across Australia and overseas to compete. Championships like these are about more than trophies. They are about testing yourself under pressure, building friendships, gaining experience and taking another step along the pathway of the game.

Catalina Club was proud to welcome the future of Australian golf to the Far South Coast and thanks every player, family, volunteer and official who helped make another memorable championship possible.

We look forward to welcoming many of these talented young golfers back to Catalina in the years ahead.

This week's Secret Sommelier pairing celebrates two proud farming traditions.

From the rich grazing country surrounding Cowra comes our 12-hour Slow-Cooked Lamb Shank, braised in red wine and tomato until beautifully tender, then served with creamy Paris mash and seasonal vegetables.

To accompany it, we've selected Marquis de Pennautier Pinot Noir from the historic Château de Pennautier in France's Languedoc region. Produced by the Lorgeril family for ten generations, this elegant Pinot Noir brings bright red fruit, gentle spice and refined structure, lifting the richness of the lamb while allowing every element of the dish to shine.
