St Gwinear car park at 1280m has received 3-5cm over night with around 10cm on the summit at 1509m.
Road open & clear with snow down to 1200m.
Presently snowing and will continue throughout today.
-1.4 degrees with a SW wind at 22 km/h.

Parks Victoria office is open today, Rangers will be providing traffic management in the car park for vehicles along with Park duties throughout the day.

❄️🛞⛓️ Snow wheel chains are required to be carried for all vehicles-2wd, Awd & 4wd and fitted when directed during the declared snow season at Mt St Gwinear.

⛑️ St Gwinear Ski Patrol will be on standby to provide medical, rescue and hazard prevention services.

Just a quick update for snow forecast for Mt St Gwinear for this weekend, looks like we’ve got a little system forming over the Baw Baw National Park.

Starting on Saturday into Sunday around 5-10cm is forecast. Stay upto date on page as we move closer.

Mostly clear today with snow conditions similar to yesterday.
A top of 1 degrees with very little wind forecast almost still today.
Scattered snow will be further up the trails from the car park at the 1400m mark at Jeep Track Flat junction.

Road is open and clear although mushy & slippery from the recent rain.
Snow wheel chains ❄️⛓️ must be carried & fitted when directed within the declared snow season till the 4th October.

No dogs or pets are ❌ 🐕 allowed within the Baw Baw National Park any time of the year.

If the Parks Victoria office is unattended on your visit the Park Rangers will be on patrol within the area or attending to duties.

Afternoon snow showers forecast today, we have low temperatures at -1 with 65% perception expected over the Baw Baw National Park.

For today’s forecast we have SWS winds 💨 that is key for snow fall for St Gwinear along with low temperatures and rainfall.

No snow presently in car park, sight seeing snow further up the trails.
Jeep Track Flat our Mt Baw Baw village comparison height at 1400m is holding a few cm’s and further up to Gwinear summit and over the Baw Baw plateau will be holding base snow.

Best chance of seeing fresh snow fall will be this afternoon.
If this is something you’re wanting to see then possibly plan your trip for the afternoon.

Please remember all vehicles must carry snow wheel chains ❄️⛓️ they are now compulsory to be carried & fitted when directed up until October 4th.

No dogs ❌🐕 or pets allowed in the Baw Baw National Park.

Parks Victoria office open today with St Gwinear Ski Patrol on standby with the food van open from 8 AM - 4:30 PM.

Road is open & clear - slippery in sections slow & steady is a good pace on the wet gravel roads 💦🛘 avoid sudden braking.

❄️⏰ Alfies Fast Food van will be open from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Friday, Saturday & Sunday of this week.
With snow forecast this Friday and over the weekend the food van will be in full swing.

❄️🛞⛓️ Snow wheel chains are required to be carried for all vehicles and fitted when directed during the declared snow season at Mt St Gwinear that commenced on (6 June – 4 October 2026).

🚫🐕 Baw Baw National Park prohibits dogs and pets to protect fragile ecosystems, prevent the spread of diseases, and keep native wildlife safe from stress or predation.

🅿️ Mt St Gwinear car park is a basic visitor site that includes toilets, change rooms and a heated shelter room in winter.
Visitors are encouraging to be self-sufficient.

🌿Parks Victoria office will be open this Friday, Saturday & Sunday of this week for visitor management.
If office is closed or unattended Park Rangers could be conducting patrols or duties within the area.

⛑️ St Gwinear Ski Patrol is a dedicated voluntary team that operate out of the Ski Patrol base to the right hand side of the Parks Victoria office on weekends over winter.
Their team provide medical, rescue and hazard prevention services throughout Mt St Gwinear and the Baw Baw plateau.

Bit of a slow start! Alfies Fast Food van will Not Open this weekend due to No Snow. ❌❄️

St Gwinear Ski Patrol will be performing training this Saturday 🌟 New Volunteers Are Always Welcome! 🌟those interested make yourself available and introduce yourself to their welcoming team!

lf the Parks Victoria office is not open on your visit the Park Rangers could be preforming duties in the Park or on Patrol within the area.
