The Drunken Farmhand is heading to the Scenic Rim Eat Local Month Winter Harvest Festival held in Kalbar tomorrow from 9am to 3pm.

Come and visit us at Stall #3, where we'll have a delicious range of our small-batch pickles, preserves, relishes, sauces, and locally sourced gourmet goodies available for purchase.

Whether you're looking for the perfect accompaniment to your next grazing platter or simply love supporting local producers, we'd love to see you!

A huge thank you to everyone who has purchased tickets to our Pairing Workshop. I'm looking forward to sharing an afternoon of fantastic local food, great conversation, and discovering how simple pairings can elevate your favourite cheeses, preserves, meats, and more. It's going to be a delicious experience!

WINTER IS HERE!

Each year I make small batch mulled red wine pear preserves and sweet chilli sauce.

Perfect winter warmers.

Pears are perfect to pair with any soft cream cheeses, whipped cream, ice cream or warmed up with a chocolate jus!

Sweet chilli goes on everything. I tend to lean towards the classic beer battered wedges, sour cream and a healthy serving (measured from the heart) of sweet chilli. This sweet chilli has garlic and ginger in it. Giving a light delicious flavor to the chilli!

What a fantastic two days!

As part of Scenic Rim Eat Local Month, I had the pleasure of teaching Pickling Fundamentals classes and sharing my passion for preserving local produce. Through The Drunken Farmhand, I'm fortunate to not only teach these skills but also showcase the incredible local farmers, artisans, producers and small businesses that make the Scenic Rim such a special place.

A huge thank you to Caz from Scenic Rim Cooking Classes for collaborating on this wonderful event. Together we welcomed some amazing students who learned the basics of safe pickling, enjoyed a delicious spread of local food and drinks, and went home with a copy of my Pickling Fundamentals book and the confidence to start preserving at home.

The classes were filled with great questions, plenty of learning, lots of laughs, and a genuine appreciation for local food and the people who produce it.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. Supporting local producers and sharing traditional food preservation skills is something I'm incredibly passionate about, and seeing so many enthusiastic faces over the last two days made it all worthwhile.

Here's to more pickles, more learning, and more celebrating everything that makes the Scenic Rim amazing!
