Just 50 minutes west of The Ship Inn sits Boonara Farm, where owner John raises his Charollais sheep with care and respect. From the paddock to the kitchen, every step of the journey is considered, ensuring the quality of the ingredient is honoured all the way to the plate.

Our chefs then take over, preparing Boonara Grilled Lamb Loin Chops, served with a fresh Greek salad, roasted garlic thyme potatoes and house-made tzatziki.

Our latest feature dish is a celebration of beautiful Australian barramundi and the fresh local produce we’re proud to serve every day.

Pan fried and oven finished barramundi, resting on a creamy green pea consommé with roasted Dutch potatoes, crisp green beans and fresh baby sorrel. Light, vibrant and packed with flavour from the first bite to the last.

A proper steak dinner without the food coma 🥩🍷

The 150g rump at The Ship Inn is the sweet spot.

Big enough to satisfy, light enough to still start with an entree… and if you’re doing it properly, make it the pan fried Yamba tiger prawns first. Straight from the Northern Rivers, cooked in a rich garlic bisque with a little kick of spice. One of the best starters going around.

Then roll straight into the rump steak served with roasted root vegetables, creamy mash and pepper gravy. Quality Queensland beef sourced through Boonara Station in the Scenic Rim as part of The Ship Inn’s paddock to plate philosophy, led by Executive Chef Stefano and the crew.

This is Brisbane pub dining done right.
Good produce.
Good wine.
Good company.
No rush.

Big flavours, local produce, Brisbane sunshine. 🍤☀️

Our pan fried Yamba tiger prawns are sourced straight from the Northern Rivers trawlers of NSW, finished in a rich garlic bisque with a hint of spice and served over a fresh Thai style salad. One of Executive Chef Stefano’s absolute crowd favourites for good reason.

Best enjoyed alfresco at The Ship Inn in the heart of South Bank with a crisp Pike’s Traditionale Riesling in hand. Fresh, ethical, local and bloody delicious.
