On Friday afternoon, I took myself off for a little trot down to Shelley Beach!
The week had been hectic with lots & lots of demands & having a kitchen smack-bang in the middle of industrial Brookvale there is always noise! Not to mention the oven, mixers & grinder!
A little overwhelmed to say the least.
The salt air. The crisp, cool breeze. The lapping of the waves & the chitter chatter of the tourists along Manly Beach! It was pure heaven & just what I needed to clear my head. I must have stopped to take about a dozen photos of people with this backdrop behind them!
Over the weekend, I learned that a young fella I had worked with years ago, had lost his mental health battle. And it is so very sad. And even more sad, so very frequent.
I am not saying that all he needed was a walk on the beach - but I think it can be at times when we are feeling the most overwhelmed, that negativity takes hold & makes everything seem grey & void.
And so I beg you. Talk the walk. Make the time. Get in the garden. See the MJ movie with your bestie. Spend time releasing the pressure! We live in the most beautiful country in the world - we need to stop & smell the flowering eucalypts! Get amongst it, for the benefit of your mental health.
