The talk about healthy eating has really heated up of late in the developed world, thanks in part to the vocal messages being shared by the 'Make America Healthy Again' movement.
As a food business which opened in 2014, Nourish was readily embraced by the local community and travelers visiting our beautiful town who appreciated fresh, nourishing, 'clean' food.
However, over time the 'clean eating' movement copped increasing flack in the media for a raft of reasons and slowly but surely people became convinced that there was no real need to prioritise the quality of their food. Customers drifted back to cheaper, more convenient and far less nourishing food and drinks.
Thanks to media messaging, the Australian public increasingly questioned the merit of spending more money on their diet and began to resent being told that their diets may be lacking in nourishment.
Sadly, hard working Aussie fruit and vegetable growers have watched their sales plumet as Aussies have shifted away from fresh foods to more and more ultra processed foods.
And, as time has gone on, the Aussie population has just gotten sicker and unhappier :(.
This begs the question, can Australia really afford to continue to ignore the contribution that food and drink make to our health and happiness??
