Writing about ourselves has always been challenging, but the time has come!

Checkpoint this is two friends who share a common passion for cooking, sharing and hosting friends and family. So we thought it would be cool to create some food events where we get to do that and also explore different food traditions.
A way to keep travelling while remaining in Byron bay.

For us, it has always been about having fun and bringing something to the community we live in. We hope you love it!

Why did we call it Checkpoint?

Historically Byron was called Cavvanbah, and this place was known for being an important cultural meeting point for indigenous. A place where we meet, gather, and share.

Check out our amazingly fresh and flavorful ceviche plate that we served up at our last Mexican pop-up event in February! 🇲🇽🐟 we carefully prepared this dish with the freshest ingredients, including amazing king Tarakihi fish, a premium fish quite unknown to most of us but with an amazing texture and taste, heaps of freshly squeezed lime juice, red onions, coriander…🌶️🥑🇲🇽 We topped up all this with some spicy mango salsa to spice up your taste buds 😉and we might have put a bit of Mezcal in it too 🤫

All done with the arroz con leche trials 🙌!!
We have made 4 different versions and we all agreed on the same. You will have to come Wednesday night to check it out 😉🇲🇽🌶️!

Hola hola chicos & chicas 🤠 Here we are again with our next Wednesday pop-up 🌴 OTHERSIDE 🌴] This time we gonna spiced it up with some of our favs Mexican food, uuuh spicy 🌶️ As usual we offer a $45 menu with vegetarian and gluten free options and don't forget to bring your cooler as we are BYO event 🍻  will be playing live! The checkpoint is Wednesday 08/02, 6pm 🌴 OTHERSIDE 🌴] terrace. See you there amigos 👯‍♂️
