After five incredible years, it’s time for Root’s final countdown!
Our last trading day will be Friday 31 October 2025, Saturday 1st Nov (Frozen Meal pickup only) and we’d love to celebrate every moment with you until then.
When we first opened our doors, we had no client base, no marketing plan, and no idea what we were doing — just a dream, a few family recipes, and a lot of heart. Our very first customer came in thanks to our lovely neighbours at Beauty and Day Spa(thank you forever!). Two weeks later… COVID hit. Suddenly, it was masks on, masks off, dine-in yes, dine-in no — plan A turned into plan Z. And somehow, we kept going.
Through all the chaos, we focused on what we love most: sharing good, healthy food made with love, and creating a space where people could connect, laugh, and feel at home. Every dish, every chat, every smile — it all meant the world to us.
To our amazing Root family — our daily regulars, weekly drop-ins, and long-distance food lovers — you’ve been the heart and soul of this little shop. You’ve supported us through thick and thin, turned tough days into bright ones, and made Root the special place it is.
To our wonderful sushi chef, Etsuko — we are so blessed to have you working alongside us and creating so much happiness in our little Root kitchen!
We’ve shared countless laughs, stories, and memories here — and we’ll carry them with us forever. Though it’s bittersweet to say goodbye, it feels like the right time to close this chapter and start a new one. We’re heading back to the Gold Coast to spend some precious time with our family (and maybe take a well-earned nap or two!)
But this isn’t goodbye forever — for some, maybe just a “see you later.” Once we’ve recharged, who knows where Root might pop up next? Keep an eye out — we might just surprise you somewhere in the southeast!
Until then, we’d love to see your faces one more time before we close our doors. And to those who can’t make it — thank you for filling our hearts and being such an important part of our story.
