In the sonic wilderness, DJ and beat maker Jimmy Flipshyt emerges as a musical scout, guiding audiences through musical territories beyond the beaten track. A champion of the lo-fi movement, Jimmy's mission is to spark curiosity in the off-beat, the improvised, the imperfect and the extraordinary.

The moniker "Flipshyt" is a nod to a fearless approach to sonic manipulation, where turntables become chopping blocks for sound snippets, while Jimmy wields the SP-404 with finesse, adding texture and a splash of controlled chaos to his live performances.

Join Jimmy on his sonic quest at Swish! on Friday 29th August at 430pm!

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: RACHEE RENEE

Rachee Renee has been brightening streets, alleyways, drains, warehouses, galleries, and clubs with stencils, characters and killer ladies throughout Melbourne and internationally under numerous aliases for the last 20 years! She is also a multi-sensory art therapist using a background as a street artist and the platform of graffiti to create positive creative experiences and therapeutic workshops.

Rachee dabbles in a wide range of arts practices such as sculpture, toy-making, sewing and resin casting, with a style influenced by pop art, street art and all kinds of Japanese kitsch, creating cute and colourful art with a little edge.

We're so stoked to have Rachee as a feature mural artist at Swish! Event details: https://www.facebook.com/events/665791386479687/665791389813020

Versace Boys create sun drenched soul mixed with hip hop and surf froth. Always good for a laugh and great for throwing big shapes. The sound is kind of like if Anderson Paak married The Chats, who was related to Remi Wolfe, adopted by the Flight of the Concords and cousin to Mark Rebillet.

Making fun of life, The Versace Boys make bedroom soul/pop/surf-hop that will make you sing, dance and laugh so much that you cry a little bit. Freestyle cheekiness, huge dance moves, juicy bangers and talk a lot about the struggles of being incredibly rich, famous, gorgeous and humble.

We're stoked to have Versace Boys bring their brass and sass to Bank Lane on Friday 29th August! For event details, head to: https://www.facebook.com/events/665791386479687/665791389813020

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT - CAM SCALE 🙌

Cam Scale embarked on his vertical artistic journey in the early 2000s and has since become a highly esteemed figure in Australia's fine art and mural painting scene. Now residing in the lush landscapes of tropical far North Queensland, Scale's artistic vision is deeply influenced by his travels and natural surroundings.
His oeuvre delves into the intricacies of the human experience, rendered in a raw and emotive way. Specialising in large-scale figures and portraits, Scale employs a fusion of aerosol techniques and acrylic/oil mediums, seamlessly blending the worlds of fine art and street aesthetic.

This unique approach has propelled Scale to prominence, earning him recognition through numerous exhibitions and projects across Australia as well as overseas. Combining evocative interpretations and masterful craftsmanship.

We're so humbled to have Cam bring his expertise to Bank Lane as part of Cairns Festival's Swish events! Have you checked out the program?

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT - WALLY WALLWORK

Born and raised in Cairns, Daniel (Wally) Wallwork is a multi-faceted contemporary art practitioner.

A professional aerosol artist, automotive spray-painter, sculptor, event producer, curator, arts worker, small business owner, and father are among the many guises of this dynamic artist.

Established as a gallery artist, Wallwork is one of North Queensland’s most progressive visual artists whose practice often extends on his trade skills as an automotive spray-painter. Wallwork’s arts practise is recognisable through the use of high-quality automotive paints and materials creating slick, finished works that utilise light and shadow to create tactile forms. His works often playfully explore and celebrate Australia’s iconic automotive culture, its suburban roots and various sub-cultures. And more recently natural forms found in his tropical suburban environment, including the dynamic insects and birds of FNQ.

Wally has also become widely known throughout regional Queensland and particularly many remote Cape York Peninsula aboriginal communities, as a Socio-Cultural Aerosol Artist and Educator.

We're stoked to have Wally create a large scale mural as part of our Swish! event in Bank Lane! Keen to check it out? Head to the event page:
